The Packaging Lead will be responsible for managing packaging and labelling projects from design inception through production. They will be working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to implement these projects and ensure they align with Knix branding, as well as partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that all Packaging & Labelling meets and/or exceeds Regulatory requirements.

The Opportunity:

  • Communicate with cross-functional stakeholders to create artwork and source products for Packaging and Labels.
  • Continuous communication with Design/Development to understand what packaging and labels are required to be created for new products and to update existing packaging where necessary.
  • Collaborating with Regulatory/Legal to ensure all packaging meets the regulatory and legal requirements
  • Alignment with Creative/Brand to ensure all packaging meets the Creative standards and brand guidelines
  • Partnering with Merchandising for the creation of UPC and ensuring UPC names are reflective of packaging namesWorking with the Wholesale team to understand and develop packaging and labelling as it pertains to specific Wholesale partners
  • Working with nominated packaging suppliers to develop and maintain a packaging library
  • Artwork Development:
  • Execution of artwork for Packaging and Labels for NEW and carry-over products
  • Facilitate artwork approvals and oversee artwork development before development with the nominated supplier
  • Execution of artwork for Packaging / Labels / Wholesale Special Projects
  • P&L Strategy:
  • Responsible for developing and executing a supplier strategy for a nominated packaging and labelling
  • Partner with Sourcing to ensure P&L strategies and timelines are aligned with the garment sourcing strategy

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of graphic design in the areas of packaging and labelling as it pertains to artwork creation
  • Strong understanding of Packaging & Labelling as it pertains to Textile/Apparel Regulatory and Compliance.
  • Knowledge of FDA Packaging and Labels requirements is an added bonus.
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong ability in using Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Ability to work independently and as a collaborative partner
  • Knowledge of responsibly sourced materials and claims a plus
  • 3+ years’ experience in Packaging and Labelling Graphic Design
  • Degree/diploma in Graphic Design or related field of study
  • Experience liaising with external stakeholders and vendors
