The Product Marketing Manager – Pioneer Soy & Complimentary Crops will lead the development and execution of the annual marketing plan for the Pioneer® Soybean portfolio in Canada. This role is responsible for the annual soybean seed forecast and financial plan, portfolio positioning, communications strategy, pricing and programming, and the execution of near‑term soybean product and technology launches.

This role sits at the center of the annual Pioneer Soy marketing plan and works cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing Communications (MarCom), Product Lifecycle Management, Customer Strategy, Sales Effectiveness, NA Pioneer Soy + Comp Crops teams and the Canadian Seeds Marketing Leader to deliver integrated strategies and tools in support of Corteva’s seed business objectives.

The PMM partners closely with the Seeds Marketing Leader to ensure the annual soybean marketing plan aligns with the broader Multi‑Year Seed and Trait Strategy and drives profitable growth for the Pioneer brand.

In addition to soybeans, the role is responsible for execution of annual marketing plans of regional crops including: Winter Wheat, Hybrid Wheat, Sunflowers

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

Soybean Annual Marketing Plan

  • Lead the development and execution of the annual Pioneer Soybean marketing plan, including volume forecast, financial plan, portfolio strategy, and tactical execution.
  • Align annual strategies and execution with the Multi‑Year Soybean and Trait Strategy.
  • Collaborate with commercial sales leadership and the Pioneer agency network to ensure alignment and effective execution.
  • Design, align, and implement soybean‑specific pricing, promotions, and portfolio programming, ensuring a competitive market offer that achieves sales and value targets.
  • Partner with the IBP Demand Manager to align annual and in‑season forecasts.

Soybean Communications Strategy

  • Partner with the MarCom team to develop and execute an integrated communications strategy aligned to the Pioneer Soybean portfolio.
  • Lead the development and execution of communication plans with Commercial Pioneer Sales teams to clearly align on annual program, pricing, and variety positioning.

Soybean Portfolio Lifecycle Management

  • Partner with the Technical Product Manager to develop portfolio positioning and lifecycle strategies, from product launch through managed retirement.
  • Establish introductory and ongoing pricing guidance to achieve portfolio gross price and margin objectives.
  • Ensure strong product understanding and messaging across sales and agency channels.

Execution of Soybean Product & Technology Launches

  • Lead the execution of soybean launches, building farmer awareness and early adoption of new varieties and technologies.
  • Partner with MarCom and Sales teams to deliver coordinated awareness, education, and selling tools.
  • Support the integration of Corteva soybean trait technologies within the Pioneer Soybean portfolio.
  • Partner with the Seed Applied Technology (SAT) team to effectively market LumiGEN® across the Pioneer Soybean portfolio, ensuring aligned seed and technology value messaging.

Pioneer Rep Channel Enablement

  • In partnership with the Seeds Marketing Leader and Sales Effectiveness Manager (SEM):
    • Review and recommend updates to the Pioneer Rep Agreement on an annual basis.
    • Support communication and governance of commission structures affecting the Pioneer soybean portfolio.
    • Partner with MarCom to champion and support the Pioneer Rep Rewards strategy related to soybean performance and portfolio priorities.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Agriculture or Business preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Sales or marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience within the agriculture industry is highly preferred.

Additional Information & Preferences

  • This position supports the Canadian Soybean market.
  • Location: Canada, with a preference for Calgary, Alberta.
  • Travel may be up to 33%, including overnight travel.
  • Visa sponsorship and/or International Relocation is NOT available for this position.
