Join Our Team as a Simulation & Data Science Presales Lead!

Do you thrive at the intersection of advanced simulation, data science, and customer engagement—translating complex challenges into compelling software solutions? Can you confidently lead technical conversations, deliver tailored demos, and shape product direction based on real-world client needs? Are you ready to be the go-to expert in a dynamic presales environment, where your insights directly influence both customer success and product innovation?

At KBC, We are seeking a technically savvy and customer-oriented Presales Engineer – Simulation and Data Science to support our sales and business development efforts. In this role, you will act as the technical bridge between our software products and prospective customers, helping articulate and demonstrate how our tools solve complex industrial challenges. You’ll leverage your background in simulation, data science, and process engineering to tailor solutions, deliver compelling demos, and support technical evaluations.

About Us: KBC (A Yokogawa Company), is a global technology-based consulting company that delivers world-class process optimization and energy solutions to the oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, and polymer industries. We blend decades of deep industry expertise with cutting-edge digital technologies enabling clients to achieve operational excellence, sustainability, and profitability. With a focus on decarbonization and net-zero goals, our integrated solutions have helped avoid 400 million tonnes of CO₂ since 1979. At KBC, you’ll be part of a team that empowers industries to navigate the energy transition and accelerate the path to net-zero — all while building a rewarding, future-focused career.

What You'll Do:

As a key player in our Technical Presales team, you will:

  • Serve as the technical expert during the sales cycle, articulating the value and capabilities of our simulation and data analytics platform.
  • Understand client operations, challenges, and KPIs—translating them into software-based solutions.
  • Prepare and deliver customized product demonstrations, presentations, and proofs of concept.
  • Collaborate with the sales, product, and engineering teams to align customer requirements with product capabilities.
  • Build and present use cases that combine first-principles modeling with data-driven insights.
  • Respond to RFPs and technical questionnaires with accurate, persuasive content.
  • Engage with prospects during pilots/trials, ensuring technical success and satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback to the product and engineering teams to help guide product roadmap based on customer needs.

What We’re Looking For: a forward-thinking leader who’s passionate about innovation and customer success. In this role, you’ll guide clients through the power of our simulation solutions backed by data science — crafting tailored solutions, shaping product direction, and driving real business impact. If you're energized by solving complex challenges and leading with insight, we’d love to connect.

Experience & Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in process modeling, simulation, or data analytics, ideally in oil & gas, refining, or chemicals.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25–40%) to customer sites, conferences, and trade shows.

Technical & Domain Knowledge:

  • Strong familiarity with process simulation tools (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, gPROMS, Modelica) and/or Python-based modeling environments.
  • Experience with data analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Python/pandas, Power BI, Plotly).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based platforms and industrial data infrastructure.
  • Understanding of digital twins, advanced process control, or real-time optimization concepts.
  • Exposure to OT/IT integration (e.g., PI System, SCADA, DCS) is a plus.

Skills & Competencies:
