Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Jewelry Category Manager to strategically oversee the category, maximize its sales and profitability for JEWLR!
You’ll combine in-depth market and consumer behavior analysis to determine product assortment, pricing, and promotional strategies. You will work across departments, including marketing, production and development to drive growth by ensuring products align with customer demand and market trends while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy and Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy aligned with overall business objectives, in close partnership with the Design team.
- Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for assortment expansion within the jewelry category.
- Develop pricing strategies in relation to gold cost trends to maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
Financial and Performance Management
- Own category P&L along with the Finance team.
- Monitor category performance through key KPIs (sales, margin, inventory turnover) and identify areas for improvement.
- Drive strategies to optimize product mix and minimize excess inventory.
Assortment Planning and Product Lifecycle
- Lead product assortment planning across jewelry categories, ensuring a balanced, trend-relevant, and margin-optimized product mix across materials (10K, 14K, sterling silver), stones, and personalization options
- Collaborate with the Merchandising and Product Development teams to identify gaps and opportunities in the assortment.
- Manage product lifecycle from introduction to exit, adjusting based on performance and market dynamics.
Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination
- Work closely with the Inventory teams to manage stock levels, avoid shortages and manage high-value inventory responsibly.
- Monitor market trends, raw materials pricing (eg. gold, gemstones) and supply chain disruptions to adjust procurement strategies proactively.
- Develop contingency plans to mitigate potential supply risks, with a focus on critical items such as personalized pieces and high-volume styles.
Vendor and Supplier Management
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Identify and evaluate new and existing suppliers to ensure reliability and competitive pricing.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to maximize value and mitigate risk.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Merchandising, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, or retail strategy.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of driving category performance.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
- Proficiency in Shopify and Microsoft
- Experience with product lifecycle management and assortment planning.
