Reporting to the Leader, AppOps Product Enablement the AppOps Specialist will be responsible for enhancing and optimizing availability, resiliency and performance of Interac’s payment systems. You will lead production support for our services driving proactive mitigation, automation and scaling, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. You will be instrumental in ensuring the stability of critical infrastructure across both on-prem and cloud platforms. The candidate will work closely with DevSecOps, Architecture, Observability, and Enabling Tech squads to maintain resilient, performant, and compliant environments that power Canada's next-generation payment systems.
You'll be responsible for:
Production support and uptime of critical systems ensuring our platforms and applications remain highly available in accordance with Service Levels and performance parameters.
Implementing changes / code releases through all environments ensuring seamless automated deployments across environments and preflight, post implementation validations.
Implementing automated workflows for repeatable tasks such as deployments, upgrades, and system configuration, reducing manual intervention and improving speed and resiliency.
Proactively identify and act on emerging issues and own overall resolution, engaging with technical/business teams ensuring rapid response to arrive at a prompt resolution and remove any customer / business impact.
Monitoring overall system performance and availability, configuring and optimizing alerts and logging.
Ensuring the security of our applications by ensuring compliance with security standards across all environments and supporting the elimination of vulnerabilities/threats through proactive detection. .
Optimizing overall system performance and leveraging performance data, monitoring / diagnostic tools to continuously drive service excellence.
Creating and maintaining technical and support documentation for our systems (e.g. features and functionality, operations, application / platform support, runbooks)
Responding to and quickly resolving escalated issues, 24/7 rotating on call production support required.
You bring:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Experience with programming languages (e.g. Java, Spring) and willingness/ability to learn.
Experience using version control systems, such as Git, for managing codebases and collaboration.
Experience with scripting e.g. Power Shell, Python, Ansible.
Experience with microservices and containerization (e.g. Docker).
Experience using tools such as Cloud watch, Splunk, Dynatrace, ServiceNow.
A good understanding of Agile development and Agile frameworks (e.g. JIRA, GitHub)
A good understanding of Service Management processes and operating procedures (Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Event Management, Release Management)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can seamlessly communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
You are a strong and reliable team player and can engage with all stakeholders in a collaborative team environment.
You are a proactive and energetic technical specialist, able to quickly learn cutting edge technologies and expand your area of expertise.
Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
Nice to have:
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Certification
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
Good understanding of database systems such as Oracle, PostgreSQL
Experience with DevOps concepts and methodologies.
Experience working in Agile squads.
Experience working on payments systems / mission critical systems.
