The Content Designer—reporting to the Leader, Product Design—will be responsible for design ideation, wireframing, prototyping, and interactive design, leading to high-fidelity outputs. They will use their creativity, imagination, and design expertise in shaping new products and services for millions of Canadians.
You’ll be responsible for:
Use your craft to create simple, coherent, and easy-to-understand experiences across Interac products
Design, write, edit, and test clear, compelling in-product copy critical to helping users complete tasks in our products.
Work with and advise designers on product and user experience flows and drive information hierarchy decisions.
Define and create navigational nomenclature and terminology, aligned with a brand's voice/tone and creating simple user interfaces.
Conduct regular audits of existing experiences and make informed content suggestions backed by best practices, research, and UX writing guidelines.
Collaborate with Engineers, Product Managers, Products Designers, Researchers, and Marketers on agile squads across our products.
Create content design systems, guidelines, and best practices for teams across Interac to use in creating consistent and elegant product experiences.
Give and solicit feedback from peers to help create the best product experiences.
Champion content design best practices and inclusive writing and establish the highest quality standards for writing artifacts/deliverables.
Collaborates and advises peers in product and content design within a product team and across Interac Design.
You bring:
An undergraduate degree in Writing or related field, or the equivalent work experience.
2+ years of experience in a UX writer, copywriter, or content designer role.
Experience working in a Product Operating Model, where agile, interactive delivery moves products from idea discovery through scaled growth.
Experience creating and delivering content strategy which impacts multiple teams or departments.
The ability to communicate new content strategies, updates, and solutions to a peer group of designers, developers, product managers, and other delivery partners.
Influential within a specific product team, squad team, and across the Product Design practice.
Work closely with product and design teams from ideation to launch to ensure the product voice and customer experience is optimal.
Share best practices with peers, marketers, legal, creative teams, translation service providers, and other select cross-functional team members.
Ability to anticipate, or quickly generate, content solutions related to solving key design challenges.
Understand user journeys and where content helps users achieve their goals.
Anticipate user questions, confusion, or concerns, especially in complex or high-stakes interactions.
Ability to advise squads on content, UX, product, and design challenges.
Experience and familiarity with using Figma and design tools but is not expected to be at the level of a Product Designer.
Excellent writing skills with the ability to create simple, clear, and intuitive UI copy aligned to the brand/product voice/tone, in areas such instructional copy, errors, tooltips, empty states, modals, and success message.
The ability to write clear, concise, and contextually relevant CTAs, accounting for button states, hierarchy of actions, etc.
Strong grasp of microcopy best practices, voice/tone guidelines, accessibility/inclusion guidelines, and plain language principles.
Experience building content standards integrated within relevant Design Systems.
A portfolio that can clearly and effectively showcase your writing and content design skills, experience, and are comfortable speaking to it.
The ability to create interactive prototypes and wireframes with minimal help from product designers.
Experienced in the use of AI/LLM tools for rapid content prototyping or content generation.
Fluent in French or experienced in working on content for French-speaking regions.
Experienced in accessible/inclusive writing best practices and guidelines.
Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.
