The Employee Experience (EE) and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Intern will play a supporting role in the enrichment of the employee journey for all Interac team members. Reporting to the Leader, Employee Experience, you will have the opportunity to further your development by providing day-to-day support for various projects and initiatives within the Employee Journeys team. The intern will have an opportunity to learn and participate in employee engagement, DEI, training & development, and more!
You’ll be responsible for:
Assist with general People & Culture (P&C) initiatives and deliverables, including organizing in-person and virtual DEI and/or learning events
Prepare employee experience and DEI related feedback tools and reports
Onboard and manage partnership with Toronto District School Board(TDSB)'s Center of Excellence for Black Student Achievement and the Indigenous Centre of Excellence for high school summer intern program
Respond to employee inquiries, monitoring shared inbox according to preset service level agreements
Prepare reports and provide requested information by the P&C Employee Journeys and DEI teams
Research, analyze, and maintain information systems in support of DEI, and Learning & Development
Maintain and update relevant intranet pages and resources.
Provide calendar support, maintaining and updating team shared outlook calendars, the HUB calendar, and others as needed
Maintain quality and accuracy of training data in Workday (Interac's Human Resources Information System)
Assist with formatting and preparing training course materials.
Assist with activities to ensure training attendance and participation such as response tracking, follow ups, and escalations if needed
Other administrative duties as required
You bring:
Currently enrolled as a student in a post-secondary education with a focus in Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, Psychology, Business, Administration
Understanding that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making
Able to be flexible especially in re-setting the priorities
Understand the value and importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion
Relationship-building and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop trust and confidence, work effectively and collaborative with individuals across multiple functions and levels
Project management - skills in tracking DEI and / or learning initiatives, timelines, and deliverables
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, Power BI, Teams) with preference for working knowledge of Excel

Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:
Empathy – Ability to engage with diverse perspectives in a thoughtful and supportive way
Commitment to Learning – Open to feedback and continuously growing knowledge
Bonus knowledge in Workday or a similar human resources information system
Previous experience working with feedback tools (e.g. Microsoft Forms, Slido etc.) is an asset
Workstyle: Hybrid (3 days on-site)
Location: Toronto
Term: May to August 2025
Duration: Monday – Friday
