The AppOps Intern will be supporting our Application Operations team. In this role, you will work closely with Application Leaders, Technical Leads, Development and DevOps/Platform teams. You will be supporting critical teams working on ensuring uptime and availability of National payment platforms. You will gather insights into application operations, production systems, technical and operational documentation, service improvement and automation initiatives. This role will be directly responsible for supporting Interac with driving customers’ experience, supporting our commercial services and operations.
Please note that there are two (2) AppOps Intern roles reporting to different teams (e-Transfer, Product Enablement.) Your application will be considered for both roles.
You’ll be responsible for:
Support gap analysis in the Monitoring and Observability space.
Document the gap analysis and prepare business cases for addressing gaps.
Coordinate between various technical teams and conduct workshops to identify gaps and propose solutions.
Present data analysis to stakeholders and translate requirements into reporting deliverables to support multiple product lines.
Create reports and provide data-based recommendations for business decision-making, identifying client opportunities, and finding common data trends.
Develop performance metrics to define and recommend key performance indicators (KPIs).
Analyze data in Excel and Tableau, assist with dashboard and report generation, and deliver ad-hoc reports as required.
Review, map, consolidate, and validate IT metrics and alert thresholds using tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, and OEM.
Work with application leads and development teams to document and execute monitoring enhancements from a customer experience/impact lens.
Document gaps and support leads with developing prioritization lists for service enhancements and automations.
Support the Application Operations team through Agile Squads (planning, stand-ups, reviews, Jira tracking, retrospectives, etc.).
Create technical and operational documentation in support of production systems.
Analyze KPIs and gather insights to drive performance enhancements and optimizations.
Streamline metrics and automate basic reporting and dashboards.
Create and socialize weekly metrics with Agile squads.
Work with application SMEs and development teams to identify and streamline application insights, performance enhancements, and implementation plans.
Automate dashboards, observability, and application metrics/KPI data.
You bring:
You are currently enrolled in a university or college program in a relevant discipline, such as Computer Science, Math, or Business Administration.
A self-starter mindset with a drive for continuous learning and a desire to research and implement new solutions.
Solid verbal, written, and analytical communication skills. You can articulate your data analysis succinctly to different people.
Comfortable with learning and working effectively either independently or with groups across different functions and levels – you can understand what someone’s goals are and translate them into actionable items.
A creative and adaptive problem-solver with a demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives – you are known for being responsive to everyone’s needs.
Understanding that success is in the details – you tend to notice things that others don't.
Proven time management and organization skills. You can prioritize and manage your time effectively to meet deadlines.
Good communication and collaboration skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and presentation tools.
Writing, consolidating, and publishing internal technical, process, and operational documentation.
Understanding and visualizing an end-to-end customer experience and working with leads to prioritize service enhancements.
Solutioning and documenting automation and optimization initiatives in conjunction with technical and business stakeholders.
Good understanding of technical and business processes.

Tableau
Power BI
