The Client Service Desk Intern will be supporting Interac’s Verified line of business, which directly provides our end-users with level 1-2 product and service support. A critical component of the success of the Verified product and its’ team hinges on having a top-notch, user-friendly knowledge base for the agents to quickly leverage and provide seamless support to our end users. Your role will greatly focus on contributing to the evolution of the quality of our knowledge base.
In this role, you can expect to develop and flex your analytical and problem-solving skills while working with others to create practical solutions that will positively impact the big picture. The Client Service Desk Intern role is hybrid-based and is you must be available to be on-site in our Ottawa office.
You’ll be responsible for:
Reviewing and assisting with updating the Service Desk knowledge base to make it easier for new agents to understand (i.e., improve content organization, and for senior agents to utilize effectively)
Gathering feedback and supporting Agent requests to identify and update outdated knowledge base information
Collect valuable nuances about service and use them to enhance the service desk knowledge base
Supporting the redesign of the knowledge base to create a more seamless experience.
Working with the Team Leads and Agents to determine gaps in information and propose recommendations
Drafting and reviewing content for Interac’s knowledge base – checking for accuracy and updating formatting where necessary
Working with the respective client service desk support agents to understand how the knowledge base is currently presented and utilized
Conducting and leveraging internet research to support your contributions to updating the knowledge base
You bring:
Currently completing an undergraduate degree from a creditable Canadian institution with a focus on business, communications or a hybrid program combining technology and business
Great oral and written communication skills, and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Understanding that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your analytical skills help you to interpret data and inform your decision making
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills – you are methodical in your approach to tasks and are able to think about the big picture (this will be critical when making decisions regarding content updates/changes)
The ability to rapidly acquire new technical skills and knowledge, adapting to evolving technologies, and proactively embracing new tasks and responsibilities.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, enabling the prioritization and efficient handling of multiple tasks, ensuring timely and successful completion of responsibilities.
Comfortable with learning and working effectively either independently or with groups across different functions and levels – are you committed to customer service

Possess previous experience and knowledge working with technologies and tools such as:
Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
Confluence
Technical writing
Able to understand or quickly learn technical details
Functional knowledge of SharePoint (bonus but not required)
Workstyle: Hybrid (3 days on-site)
Location: Ottawa
Term: May to August 2025
Duration: Monday – Friday
