Reporting to the Leader, AppOps RTR, we are looking for a Technical Lead with expertise in Site Reliability engineering, DevOps and Application Management. This is a critical role where you will be heavily engaged in shaping the future of Canadian payment systems.
You will lead technical analysis and drive application and platform insights, working closely with our teams to deliver and maintain cutting edge payment solutions to our customers.
You will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, tuning and supporting Interac’s high performance payment systems You will proactively troubleshoot, resolve, and mitigate application and service problems and ensure optimal performance and availability of National payment systems.
You will focus on building automations through all environments, driving proactive observability, detection, and self-healing capabilities. You will respond to and action escalated critical alerts and mitigate against any service and client impact.
You will actively maintain end-end Production stability and ensure adherence with Prominent Payment system (PPS) standards for Canadian payment systems.
This is a fast-paced technical lead role which will be responsible for leading the development, implementation, and support of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) solutions for critical Interac Services and requires strong end-end application and systems insights, and experience managing critical workloads in cloud/hybrid/on-prem environments.
You’ll be responsible for:
Providing technical hands-on leadership and expertise in day to day support of our critical payment platforms.
Driving, implementing and prioritizing application stability and service automation / optimization initiatives ensuring adherence and compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Optimizing application performance and leveraging performance data, monitoring / diagnostic tools to continuously drive service excellence.
Developing and implementing scalable solutions to reduce manual intervention, and Drive transformation by continuously looking for ways to automate existing processes.
Implementing Application releases/changes, configurations, and code promotions through all environments via automation and ensuring performance, reliability, and stability through all environments.
Focus on Continuous improvement and technical standards – Writing scripts to automate common workflows and Drive improvements in productivity, monitoring, tooling and best practices
Create and maintain detailed technical and support documentation for our applications and systems.
Enhancing our internal DevOps standards and ensure consistency and stability in operational practices.
Be a technical escalation point in the 24/7 on-call rotation, and support maintenance, scheduled support, release deployment requirements and proactively mitigate risk and impact to production systems
You bring:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
Expertise in using version control systems, such as Git, for managing codebases and collaboration.
Strong expertise with scripting e.g. Shell, Python, and Ansible.
Experience with microservices and containerization (i.e., Docker).
Experience using tools such as Azure Monitor, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, ServiceNow.
A good understanding of AKS architectural concepts: clusters, namespaces, nodes, pods, services, autoscaling, ingress policies.
Strong knowledge of Agile development and Agile frameworks
A good understanding of software lifecycle including release planning, release processes, software testing, incident, problem and change management.
A good understanding of different types of open-source packages, preferably Spring, Apache and data transformation (JSON, XML).
You are well versed in analyzing data, identifying and proactively mitigating risk to production systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and can seamlessly communicate with technical and business stakeholders.
You are a proactive and energetic team player with an aptitude for learning and development.
Nice to have:
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Certification
AWS DevOps Professional/Terraform Certification
Experience with OpenShift Kubernetes
Experience managing/migrating workload from on prem to cloud.
Good understanding of database systems such as Oracle, EDB, PostgresSQL
Experience working in the Financial and Payments services.
ITIL Certification
