We are seeking a hands-on Technical Lead to develop and support the creation of modular, reusable solutions that will streamline AppOps processes and workflows. You will lead in fostering collaboration and accelerating innovation for a new product at Interac, championing inner-source principles, promoting a culture of shared ownership and ensuring solutions are well-documented, easily maintainable and accessible for broader team contributions. You will develop tools and libraries that prioritize reusability, enabling rapid integration and deployment across our AWS infrastructure.
You’ll be responsible for:
Architecting and develop codified, modular and reusable frameworks to streamline AppOps workflows and enable automation at scale
Actively contribute to the development of tools, scripts and modules that embed AppOps functionality (e.g. logging, monitoring and alerting) directly into application code and build pipelines
Building and maintaining versioned libraries, templated and automation modules that can be easily integrated into multiple products and workflows
Developing tools and workflows to automate deployment, testing, monitoring and recovery processes, eliminating manual intervention and improve system performance
Developing and maintaining high-quality, version-controlled libraries, templated and automation scripts that accelerate operational delivery and reduce redundancy
Embedding AppOps principles into CI/CD workflows, ensuring deployment pipelined incorporate checks for reliability, performance and operational readiness
Developing modules that integrate observability practices (metrics, logging and tracing) into the application, ensuring proactive monitoring and faster troubleshooting
Designing tools and workflows to avoid manual processes, increasing efficiency and improving system performance across environments
Fostering a culture of knowledge sharing by mentoring team members, contributing to documentation and enabling broader team adoption of developed solutions
Supporting in the evaluation and enhancement of newly developed solutions for performance, cost efficiency and operational effectiveness
Collaborating with engineering, operations, and security teams to align on architecture, tooling, and delivery strategies, ensuring AppOps capabilities are seamlessly integrated
You bring:
5–8+ years of experience in AppOps, DevOps, or SRE roles, with 3–5+ years in a technical leadership capacity overseeing large-scale, AWS cloud-based applications
5–8+ years of experience working with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, DynamoDB, VPC, CloudFormation, CloudWatch) to build and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure systems
5–8+ years of experience driving cross-functional collaboration (Developers, SRE, QA, and Security) to embed AppOps capabilities into the application code, CI/CD pipelines, and runtime environments
Demonstrated experience leading Agile and DevOps transformations, driving the adoption of CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) best practices to enable fast, reliable delivery
Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation and the ability to guide teams in adopting reusable, modular, and scalable patterns for cloud infrastructure
Proven ability to design and implement robust monitoring, logging, and observability frameworks using tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Dynatrace, and Splunk for proactive issue detection and resolution
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, Java, and configuration tools like YAML to build automation frameworks, reusable modules, and developer-friendly tooling
Experience integrating CI/CD pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI, with an emphasis on automating testing, deployment, and operational checks
Demonstrated ability to identify and automate manual processes, leveraging AWS-native services (Lambda, Step Functions, Systems Manager) to improve operational efficiency and resiliency
Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity
Nice to have:
AWS certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Solutions Architect are strongly preferred (or similar across Azure, GCP, etc.)
Certified Kubernetes Administrator
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Certification
Terraform Associate Certification
ITIL Foundation
