Reporting to the Leader, Security Incident Management, you will get to work with a world-class team responsible for reactive and proactive security, support the business, and serve a support role in the performance of a number of security capabilities that includes: vulnerability management, penetration testing / vulnerability assessments (internally and client-facing), application security, security operations engineering, and firewall advisory, security incident management, and cybersecurity tooling.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Conducting comprehensive analyses to research, interpret, and synthesize information, uncovering correlations and drawing actionable conclusions to inform decision-making processes.

  • Leading investigations with an insatiable appetite and dedication to learning, employing critical thinking approaches to uncover insights and solve complex problems.

  • Maintaining an awareness of evolving threats, emerging trends, and advancements in technologies, ensuring that strategies and practices remain current and effective in a dynamic environment.

  • Supporting information security risk assessment activities by identifying potential vulnerabilities, evaluating risks, and recommending appropriate measures to mitigate threats and enhance organizational security.

You bring:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental cybersecurity principles, practices, and concepts.

  • Ability to conduct thorough research, analyze complex data sets, identify meaningful patterns and correlations, and derive insightful conclusions to inform decision-making processes.

  • An insatiable appetite to learn and discover, coupled with a critical thinking mindset to thoroughly investigate and solve problems effectively.

  • Staying up to date with the latest developments in cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, demonstrating a proactive approach to staying informed and adapting to new challenges.

  • Actively participating in information security risk assessments, identifying potential vulnerabilities, evaluating risks, and recommending appropriate mitigation measures.

  • Attention to detail. Nothing is too small or significant.

  • Communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven ability to listen actively, articulate ideas clearly, and convey information effectively.

  • Currently completing an undergraduate degree from a creditable Canadian institution with a focus on Cybersecurity, Information Security, Network Engineering & Security, Computer Science.

  • In possession of or working towards: SANS GIAC GCLD / GCDA / GCIA, Comptia CySa+, or other comparable cyber security certification.

Location: Toronto

Term: Sept - December 2024

Duration: Monday - Friday

*Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity
