The Corporate Communications, Lead, is a key member of a fast-paced and high-performing Marketing & Corporate Communications department. The Corporate Communications team is a cross-functional, multi-skilled practice team, where Leads have the opportunity to work on internal and external communication programs to drive quarterly and annual business objectives. This role is a senior member of the team, responsible for strategic communications planning, execution and measurement to support key internal and external communications initiatives.
Reporting to the Leader, Corporate Communications, the Lead will work cross functionally with internal stakeholders and other members of the team, including those responsible for Product & Innovation Communications, Internal Communications, Government Relations & Public Affairs and Sponsorship & Citizenship to drive the department’s business-aligned communication goals and support the organization’s corporate strategy. The Lead will also work closely with leaders from across the organization to effectively promote the depth and breadth of business expertise to our internal audience.
You'll be responsible for:
Being a leader who drives corporate communications programs forward quickly and efficiently to generate positive results in a close-knit team environment
Being a part of a team that plans, develops and executes innovative employee communications and engagement programs, including town hall meetings, internal and community events, surveys, information and messaging kits, employee socials, etc.
Developing and executing internal communications plans, thought leadership and employee engagement strategies that align with the organization’s business priorities
Supporting the internal management of corporate reputation, providing strategic communications counsel and response direction to senior business leads and executives where appropriate
Providing strategic communications counsel and delivery support to executives and business partners on key business initiatives, especially with Human Resources and Strategy & Innovation
Proactively managing relationships with key internal business partners and staying abreast of business priorities through frequent and ongoing touchpoints to inform messaging and develop speeches and presentations
Developing and coordinating on-brand, on-message communications content (i.e. articles, memos, speaking notes, all-staff communications, video, photography etc.) to be delivered through a variety of internal communications channels, including town halls, intranet, newsletter, and email
Working in-house and with agency partners to meet set time, budget, and resource parameters
Working in agile environments where you can respond effectively to changing priorities
Spotting opportunities to strengthen corporate communication programs by aligning cross-functionally across corporate priorities
Experience in the financial, technology, fintech or payments sectors or a PR/digital communications agency is an asset
You bring:
A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 to 10 years of corporate PR, media relations and social media experience
Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity
Senior-level communications professional with proven, hands-on experience in executing corporate, technology and public relations campaigns who can think strategically and execute tactically
Self-starter and someone who is comfortable working with senior, cross-functional teams
Exceptional writing and editing skills
A genuine passion and curiosity for the ever-growing and changing industry of technology, payments and data
Data driven and methodical about KPIs and measuring results
Comfortable and well versed with digital communication tools (intranet platforms, newsroom platforms and social media tools etc)
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, adhering to tight deadlines and communicating progress to senior leadership
A solid track record of excellence in developing and executing corporate communications
Very strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to interact with individuals and groups, spanning all organizational levels
