As Back-End Developer, you will build new back-end services, adding new features, enhance existing products, code review and unit testing enterprise-level REST API applications with a medium size team. You will create and maintain relevant technical documentation. You’ll be expected to perform analysis, implementation, performance testing and tuning, as well as maintenance and support tasks. You will be expected to work with various SDLC methodologies and Agile software development environment.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Exceptional problem solving and analytical abilities.

• Developing and maintaining resilient microservices applications including analysis, development, and implementation.

• Knowledgeable in API & Microservices technologies and containers (Springboot, Docker, Kubernetes).

• Development tools, frameworks & technologies such as Java, Springboot, JPA/Hibernate, RESTful APIs, JSON, JWT etc.

• Understanding of cloud-native design principles and best practices.

• Writing unit tests using the frameworks for web applications and API services.

• Proactively identifying application weaknesses and recommending appropriate solutions, performing functional and code reviews in related areas.

• Grasping the business requirements and designing the applications.

• Working alongside with peer developers, QA, BA etc

• Supporting the operations group in application problem analysis and resolution.

You bring:

• University Degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.

• 5+ software development experience in Java development platform.

• Experience in developing API services using Java Springboot, JPA/Hibernate, REST, JSON, OAuth2, JWT/JWE/JWS, etc.

• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL etc. Experience in No-SQL DBs is an advantage.

• Experience as full stack developer is an advantage.

• E DevOps experience in open-source tooling required (JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, etc.).

• Experience with microservices, containerized applications, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud technologies.

• Self-motivated and able to learn quickly.

• Excellent analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Able to keep pace with new technologies and to apply them appropriately.

• Strong communication skills - verbal and written (technical documentation).

• Participated in the overall delivery of software components as part of an agile development process.
