Payroll & Benefits, Senior Analyst, reporting to the Leader, Payroll & Benefits will support managing the full cycle payroll for all salaried and part time employees. In addition to payroll processing, this role will include administering staff benefits, RRSPs, and other deductions (e.g., United Way) including the preparation and processing of all third-party remittances. Additionally, this role will have responsibility at ensuring that the company is compliant with all CRA required remittances and reconciliations including T4s and T4As.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Processing payroll for all staff bi-weekly, including reconciliation reports, payroll analysis reports (e.g., Gross to Net and Funding reports), and transmission electronically by bi-weekly deadline.

• Managing payment schedules for staff on parental leave, and employees with severance packages.

• Working with HR to verify all compensation, bonuses, and other payments/changes for staff in Workday due to new hires, terminations, promotions, annual compensation process, etc.

• Reconciling payroll register to RBC and Manulife reports by employee and update with staff changes as required.

• Transmitting Manulife RRSP contribution files electronically for all staff on a bi-weekly basis through Workday.

• Creating payments for third party invoices, and for any garnishments as required.

• Uploading monthly journal entries from Workday into JD Edwards Accounting System. Ensure they all balance and reconcile to the WORKDAY payroll reports and CIBC bank statement.

• Performing other benefit related journal entries and accruals into JDE system.

• Uploading employee expenses from Expense Management System into Workday and reconcile.

• Monthly payroll balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Thoroughly investigate, correct, and follow up on all payroll discrepancies, errors, and inquiries within a timely manner.

• Monthly reconciling of Workday reports to CRA remittance reports to GL (source deductions, EHT, etc.)

• Investigating and action any discrepancies and act to resolve.

• Validating and distribute annual T4s and T4As for all staff.

• Ensuring accurate and timely completion of Record of Employment forms (ROEs).

• Assisting with various audits and ad hoc projects as needed.

You bring:

• 3-5 years relevant experience managing a Canadian payroll and benefits program.

• Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

• In depth experience with Workday.

• Experience with payroll reconciliations including T4's and source deductions.

• A College/University degree (preferably in accounting/business).

• An understanding of accounting principles.

• Canadian Payroll designation considered an asset.
