Financial Planning & Analysis Business Partner

The Financial Planning & Analysis Business Partner will work closely with Finance Business partners supporting & coordinating forecast, budget, financial analysis & decision making. You will build high-trust relationships with key business partners and influence their decision making to maximise Interac’s financial performance.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Leader, Corporate FP&A in finance business partnering with key stakeholders on month end forecast and budget. Providing strategic analysis and assisting with key financial decisions.

  • Managing the workforce forecasting process and OPEX management.

  • Working collaboratively within the FP&A and Finance Operations teams to ensure accuracy of all management reports and provide active support for Corporate wide forecast and budget processes.

  • Supporting the annual budget cycle and monthly reporting activities including preparation of financial packages, coordination, and consolidation of results and variance analysis. Supporting the FP&A transformation to improve financial support to the business, through business case evaluations, process efficiency, and providing access to data & analysis.

  • Leading and coordinating the preparation of monthly workforce financials, analysis, and rolling forecasts. Responsible for review of the content in the monthly financial and headcount packages.

  • Managing the consolidated financial statements including support in OPEX, headcount, cash management, and project evaluations.

  • Collaborating with the accounting team to ensure accuracy of financials and streamline month-end processes.

  • Providing subject matter expertise and financial advice on complex projects to support planning and decision making.

  • Recommending chart of account structure changes to enhance financial analytics and reporting.

  • Investigating opportunities for cost reduction and working with business owners to initiate and influence change.

  • Making recommendations for internal financial presentations including products/programs P&L’s.

  • Working with stakeholders and business owners to:
    - ensure required communication, templates and due dates are delivered.
    - understand key business drivers (qualitative and quantitative), assumptions, opportunities and risks.

  • Performing due diligence on all inputs and recommending areas of adjustments.

  • Analyzing and delivering financials to support executive, Audit Committee and Board reports.

  • Ensuring approved budgets and forecasts are communicated to business owners and loaded into the financial system in a timely manner.

  • Supporting the development of a driver-driven central forecasting model, developing and bringing to light necessary analytics, gaps, and opportunities in forecast methodology.

  • Reviewing models and challenging assumptions for validity.

  • Assisting in the preparation of and presenting complex financial analysis for senior management and the Board of Directors to support informed decision making.

  • Continually evaluating the efficiency of budgetary/planning tools and processes, recommending and implementing continuous improvement to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

You bring:

  • A CPA designation or equivalent education.

  • 5-7 years relevant experience in FP&A; financial modelling, business case, budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial statement analysis.

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

  • An analytical mindset with a high sense of ownership.

  • Advanced Excel Modeling and PowerPoint skills.

  • Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau is an asset.

  • Prior experience with Vena and JDE systems is an asset.

  • A results-focused mindset to coordinate and manage several priorities and initiatives concurrently.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present critical/sensitive information in a concise and clear manner to senior management and executives.
