The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect—reporting to the Leader, Identity and Access Management—will play a critical role in the assessment of business and security requirements and the translation of IAM-related requirements into technical solutions and controls while ensuring the controls are implemented as planned. They will work across multiple technical and business functions to address IAM-related corporate risks which include but are not limited to exposures in the cloud and on premises by clearly understanding business goals.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Providing technical IAM expertise, including communicating IAM related architectural decisions, benefits, risks, and other activities including definition of IAM related requirements, facilitation of security testing and management of residual risk.

  • Gathering new IAM related security or compliance requirements based on organization needs and coordinating specific policy control implementation across multiple stakeholders.

  • Owning and independently building end-to-end conceptual and logical architecture patterns leveraging the knowledge from business as well as technology specialists. Conceptual patterns should be repeatable, traceable, and reusable amongst various applications.

  • Serving as the IAM SME to engineers and application architects and compliant solutions teams or equivalent and liaise with the Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Hosting, Network and Risk Management teams.

  • Serving as the IAM Lead in the architecture, implementation, and integration phases of IAM related products and services to meet the business security requirements.

  • Working with peer architects to provide core IAM-related requirements to the owners, developers, and engineers for the application or product which is under design and building phases.

  • Conducting threat modeling on the application or product, assessing the risk.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of core security disciplines, with close attention to developing solutions that align with industry best practices and frameworks.

  • Strategically applying industry best practices and frameworks, while leveraging the output of threat modeling techniques, building repeatable models to understand the business risk and strongly recommend the best controls.

You bring:

  • 5+ years of IT work experience followed by 3+ years experience with architecting IAM solutions.

  • A University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • Eligibility to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a full-time capacity.

  • Proven experience understanding current state, desired capabilities, and documenting target architectures, gaps, roadmaps, and architectural patterns.

  • Experience developing IAM designs and performing design reviews coupled with an ability to assess security implications for introduction of new or differing technologies within the environment.

  • Willingness and ability to work with teams and influence senior leaders, including the ability to build relationships using an open and respectful communication and collaboration style.

  • The ability to translate complex technical concepts into business requirements.
