We are looking for a seasoned architect who will act as an agent of change at Interac. Reporting directly to the Leader of Enterprise Architecture, the Sr. Principal, Enterprise Architect will be deployed to a Product Line (PL) to support its objectives and guide it on a multi-year path of modernization and migration. Working directly with the PL leadership and owners, the architect will ensure the backlog includes what is necessary to modernize and standardize the product and help prioritize related work into release plans that both deliver business value and remediate technical debt over time. We want YOU, because you have been through an agile transformation before, and can draw on your experiences to act as a mentor both within the architecture practice, and within the PL teams supported, helping everyone to make the mindset shift necessary to be successful in the new operating model.

The successful candidate will have deep experience in product / application delivery, recent experience with high volume, high availability online transaction processing services, and have been involved in a modernization program that transformed a monolithic application into discreet, independent services.

With this kind of experience under your belt, you are not an old-school ivory tower architect by any means. You are part of a new bread that is reinventing architecture as a practice as we speak. You’re capable of sharing that mindset and enabling others to deliver real value in an agile enterprise, and excited to do so at a new company. You’ll be responsible for:

• Comprehensive architectural support for a primary Product Line (PL), and a backup PL

• Product / application analysis (Domain Driven Design DDD preferred)

• Partnering with PL leadership and owners on backlog population, curation, prioritization, and release planning across multiple squads

• Manage architectural requirements in platform backlogs

• Technical debt tracking and remediation planning

• Conduct Well Architected Reviews and map findings to remediations in the backlog

• Contribution to, and leadership within, working groups tasked with continuous, iterative cross-PL product convergence and platform standardization

• Curate / incubate / prototype / deliver new potentially shared capabilities in partnership with your aligned PL team and others in the architecture practice

• Prototype / POC patterns, create docs / cookbooks, and executable code

• Product-to-platform dependency tracking

• Peer enablement for the Application Architecture domain, leading a working group accountable for supporting fellow architects to upskill on application architecture and related skillsets (e.g. development and engineering)

• Provide executive & program advice and consulting

• Govern architectural and decision quality

You bring:

• Practiced Information Technology professionally for more than 10 years

• Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity

• At least 7 years of experience on teams delivering and designing software applications

• Recent and in-depth experience architecting, designing, POCing, prototyping, and testing technology products and/or platforms on cloud platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure and AWS) and on premise Experience working on online transaction processing solutions with very high availability and resilience expectations
