The Risk Management Lead, Verified & Konek, reporting to the Head, Risk Management, will participate in the development and execution of the Risk Management activities for Interac Corp. Responsible for driving a culture of risk-informed decision making and ensuring the company’s long-term sustainability & resilience with close collaboration and dedicated risk support to Interac’s Interac Verified and Konek lines of business.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Deliver leadership, governance and oversight over the risk management activities that support the corporate objectives.

  • Work directly with product line of business leaders/risk owners to ensure risks are understood, monitored and reported on an on-going basis and are managed in relation to the corporate risk appetites.

  • Support the Management Risk Committee and Board Risk Committee on fulfilling their responsibilities by reporting the results of risk management programs and significant risk issues to support risk informed decision making.

  • Lead and facilitate all types of risk assessments (enterprise, products/services, processes), with Senior level leaders, ensuring the appropriateness of risk assessment, identification of key controls and action plans.

  • Conduct risk assessment for potential mergers and acquisitions including providing risk advice / recommendations to executives.

  • Manage and maintain the enterprise risk management framework including risk policy, appetite and tolerance statements.

  • Write and communicate at an executive or Board level.

You bring:

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance or equivalent.

  • Minimum ten (10) plus years of relevant work experience, with a focus on risk management, statutory and/or regulatory reporting to OSFI, BoC, etc., and/or regulatory compliance

  • Banking/Payment/fintech knowledge

  • Ability to grasp large amount of data and/or technical information and distill and craft executive level communication appropriate for the intended audience.

  • Excellent leadership, organizational, communication and relationship building skills.

  • Strong analytical acumen, strategic thinking, professional judgement and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at a senior/executive level.

  • Ability to create and foster a strong culture of collaboration and partnership with cross-functional peers.

  • Thorough understanding of risk assessment best practices, concepts, practices and tools.
