Reporting to the Chief Financial & Risk Officer, the Head, Finance Operations will oversee Interac’s financial reporting, accounting (including accounts receivable and accounts payable), treasury, tax, and payroll/benefits administration operations, ensuring all activities are performed on a timely basis and with strong controls for accuracy and stewardship. They will establish and implement strategies and plans to drive finance operations to achieve corporate goals through comprehensive financial models and industry research, while also leading a team and influencing strategic objectives.
You’ll be responsible for:
Overseeing the execution of critical financial processes for Interac with sound business practice, legislations, regulations, by-laws, management policies, and procedures.
Ensuring strong financial management practices are in place to protect and maximize financial resources and ensuring accurate and timely payroll payments for all employees.
Overseeing the preparation and presentation of timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports to executive leadership, board members, and stakeholders, providing insights into the company's financial health and performance.
Responsible for strategic direction planning for treasury/cash management, including capital managements and the company’s income tax filings.
Managing the relationship with external auditors, leading the organization through the annual financial statement audit.
Collaborating with internal departments and external partners, such as auditors, legal advisors, and financial institutions, to strengthen relationships and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and reporting standards.
Building, mentoring, and managing a high-performing finance team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment while setting clear expectations and goals for team members.
Leading and providing strategic financial oversight of potential mergers and acquisitions including providing financial advice / recommendations to other executives.
Performing financial due diligence and supporting the development of a financial analyses and assessments to support the decision.
Acting as a liaison between finance and other departments, ensuring cross-functional alignment on financial goals and initiatives, and effectively communicating financial insights to non-financial stakeholders
You bring:
In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting principles, and financial analysis to effectively manage financial operations and make informed decisions.
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic direction and contribute to the overall organizational strategy by aligning financial goals with business objectives.
Expertise in establishing and continually improving financial, payroll, treasure and taxation policies and processes within a high growth organization.
Strong understanding of the industry landscape, market trends, and competitive dynamics to guide financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.
Exceptional communication and presentation abilities to articulate complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Strong leadership skills to build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering collaboration, development, and accountability.
Capacity to think critically and strategically, anticipating financial challenges and opportunities, and devising innovative solutions.
Comprehensive understanding of financial regulations, reporting standards and compliance requirements relevant to the industry and jurisdiction.
Effective engagement skills to build beneficial partnerships and productive teams, maintain courteous and respectful business relationships and work cooperatively with all stakeholders.
