Reporting to the Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer, the Head, Strategy will be responsible for driving the strategic direction within the organization. This position requires a visionary leader who can develop and execute strategic initiatives, identify growth opportunities, and leverage emerging trends to position the organization for long-term success.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and execution of the strategic roadmap, aligning business objectives with market trends, regulatory changes, and customer demands.

  • Collaborating with executive leadership to define strategic priorities and guide cross-functional teams in translating the strategy into actionable initiatives.

  • Continuously evaluating the competitive landscape and adjusting strategies to maintain our position as a market leader.

  • Cascading the corporate strategy into business units and functions through definition, prioritization, and planning of key activities.

  • Organizing and facilitating a forum to enable strategic decision-making and buy-in to strategy, across leadership and business units.

  • Conducting comprehensive competitive analysis to gain insights into the fintech landscape, understand customer needs, and identify gaps in the market.

  • Developing a long-term and near-term view of the market to proactively realign and reinforce the strategy for the future.

  • Providing actionable recommendations based on competitive intelligence to shape the development and differentiation of our products and services.

  • Defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic initiatives, innovation efforts, and product launches.

  • Developing reporting mechanisms to communicate progress and insights to senior leadership, helping to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Building and leading a high-performing strategy and innovation team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment where curiosity is valued.

  • Providing mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members, encouraging their growth and career advancement.

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including executives, product teams, and technology leaders, to ensure alignment and collaboration.

  • Representing the company in industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build strategic partnerships and stay abreast of fintech trends.

You bring:

  • Sound understanding of industry and market dynamics including payment, tech, fintech, etc.

  • Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity

  • Proven experience in strategic foresight and consensus building.

  • Familiarity with large-scale / complex systems and operations delivery.

  • A customer-centric understanding of end-user needs.

  • Effective engagement skills to build beneficial partnerships and productive teams, maintain courteous and respectful business relationships and work cooperatively with all partners and business units.

  • Experience leading team members without formal management authority and strong influencing skills to achieve alignment up and down the organization.

  • The ability to foster an innovative, inclusive and diverse team environment, promoting positive team culture, encouraging collaboration and self-organization.

  • The traits to lead by example through actions and words, while providing technical guidance, coaching, and mentorship.

  • An analytics-driven mindset with a demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
