We are looking for a seasoned architect who will act as an agent of change at Interac. Reporting directly to the executive leading the Architecture Practice, the Principal Solutions Strategy Architect will be responsible for setting strategy for, and roadmapping a path to achieve, a refreshed enterprise architecture capable of supporting Interac’s aggressive objectives for agile product delivery. We want you, because you have been directly involved in similar transformations in the past, and have the confidence in what you have learned from those experiences to step up as the focal point for charting the course to success at a new organization. You’ll be working as part of a world-class team of technology and product professionals with a depth of experience in delivering solutions so successful that just about every Canadian depends on them today. Your job will be to bring to that team the practices that you applied in your current and past experience that reduced overhead and friction and greatly accelerated the quantity and quality of delivery. The team will be looking to you for just that kind of strategic direction.

You’ll be responsible for:

• The application of experience in technology modernization to setting strategy for Interac’s household-name products, so that their transformation is accelerated from monolithic apps into a set of assets that Interac will reuse to quickly and inexpensively trial new business

• Collaborating with your direct leadership on strategies for transforming architectural practices to align better with agile product and platform development

• Influencing senior leadership stakeholders throughout the enterprise on adoption of new practices and integration of those practices into more effective operating models

• Mentorship of an elite team of Solution Strategy Architects, guiding them to become even stronger practitioners of their craft within the context of the transformed operating model

• Chairing product and/or platform-aligned architecture solutions forums

• Coordinating teams of domain architects and senior technical experts in the delivery of architectures that iteratively advance capabilities along a strategic roadmap for change

• Guiding and mentoring teams in the development of architectures, designs, and patterns

• Representing Technology & Operations in product and/or platform release cycles and influencing features, epics, etc. to realize technology strategies and address technical debt

• Overseeing trials for new modes of delivering, releasing, and/or operating software, with accountability for their integrity and results

• Direct contribution to the operationalization of new delivery models

You bring:

• Practiced Information Technology professionally for more than 10 years

• Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity

• At least 7 years of experience delivering and designing software applications

• Experience in application or solutions architecture, including direct involvement in such practices during transformation from waterfall to agile operating models

• Experience applying Domain Driven Design (DDD) to technology and application modernization

• Comfort and confidence engaging senior leadership, consulting and guiding them on strategic decisioning without clear consensus between them

• Direct experience with applications that release software on cloud infrastructure (public, private, or hybrid)

• Lead teams of IT professionals in either the delivery of software, or the architecture, prototyping, and design of software solutions

• Experience with online transaction processing applications that have stringent requirements for availability (four or five nines) and resilience (very low RTO, RPO), in an “always on” model
