Software Developer Intern

The Interac Verified Business Unit of Interac designs, integrates and operates security solutions for the Public Sector, Financial Institutions and Commercial Enterprises. We offer high availability Identity and Access Management (IAM) services encompassing user authentication, credentials, and identity management.

The Interac Verified Business Unit of Interac is currently recruiting for a Software Developer Intern to be part of our client support services development team.

You’ll design and develop Enterprise class Java applications, and you are passionate about building new products that are secure, maintainable, and performant.

You take pride in translating client business requirements through methodical systems design and leveraging the latest technology solutions available to solve problems.

You're great at...

• Developing and maintaining full-stack service-based applications

• Contributing to the analysis and design of application solutions

• Analyzing defects and solving issues

• Communicating clearly and effectively to collaborate with a team

Who are you?

• Working towards a degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field

• A strong communicator who can actively participate in planning, reviews, and retrospectives

• An excellent problem-solver who is capable of both independent research and asking for guidance when needed

• A passionate learner who is looking to pick up some new skills

Must have skills:

• Some experience with Java application development

• Some experience with Javascript, HTML, and/or CSS

• Accept and implement feedback on pull requests

• Communicate with product owner and developers to fully understand requirements

Nice to have skills:

• Web application development

• Experience with writing and maintaining unit tests for code

• Spring Boot or Spring framework experience

• Experience working in a scrum team

• Basic Git knowledge

Workstyle: Hybrid or remote

Location: Toronto or Ottawa

Duration: January - April 2024

*Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity
