You will participate in the execution of the Risk Management activities and provide risk expertise and support to the business. As a member of the Risk team, you’ll work closely/under the guidance of the AVP of Enterprise Risk Management in the execution of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
You’ll be responsible for:
Managing monthly Management Risk Committee and quarterly Board Risk Committee reporting workplan.
Leading and facilitating the annual Risk Appetite statements and metrics review and update working with senior leaders from business units.
Working with business units to complete monthly Risk Appetite reporting to risk committees, ensuring that Management-approved explanations and action plans for results outside of the established appetite are properly reported.
Leading and facilitating enterprise risk assessments and emerging risk assessments with Senior level leaders, ensuring the appropriateness of risk assessment, identification of key controls and action plans.
Providing risk expertise and guidance to business units and acting as the effective challenge during the enterprise risk assessment and the risk appetite reporting.
Learning quickly to gain an understanding of business processes and activities to help identify risks.
Identifying, analyzing (to determine drivers, impact and controls), and assessing risks (based on metrics and appetite) in an IT focused environment.
Support the development and implementation of the Risk Governance Framework applicable to Interac’s subsidiaries and new lines of business.
Leading and facilitating risk identification, assessment and reporting for subsidiaries at Interac.
Supporting the development of an integrated scenario analysis process to support holistic risk assessments which enable more proactive actions and further build resilience to risk events.
Supporting the development and implementation of Risk Management Strategic Initiatives and PPS Designation related deliverables as required.
Writing and communicating at a senior management and executive level.
You bring:
University degree in Computer Science, Business, Finance or equivalent.
Ten years plus relevant work experience, preferably with significant experience in regulatory compliance and reporting
Least five (5) years’ experience managing a risk program or assessment processes.
Knowledge of risk management methodologies.
Thorough understanding of risk assessment best practices, concepts, practices and tools.
Strong understanding of IT systems, applications, networks and controls.
Experience with developing risk and control strategies in an IT, product and services environment
Strong working knowledge of relevant industry standards for risk management and controls.
Knowledge of payments technology and industry best practices.
Set and drive the “big picture” strategy while also having the capability to provide detailed technical and process guidance to the team.
Create a strong culture of collaboration and partnership with cross-functional peers.
Possess excellent leadership, organizational, communication and relationship building skills.
Strong analytical acumen, strategic thinking, professional judgement and creative problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills at a senior/executive level
Approach issues and risks with the mentality of “how do we overcome” versus “can we overcome”.
