Enterprise Risk Management Manager

You will lead and/or directly work on key risk management transformation initiatives and support enterprise initiatives as the risk management subject matter expert. Working under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Enterprise Risk Management and closely with peers in Risk Management and other Interac functions, the Manager will support work on the design, development and delivery of new or enhanced risk management programs. This role will also support Risk Management’s work on the Prominent Payment System (“PPS”) designation and will work closely with Interac partners on risk management considerations in enterprise initiatives.

PPS Regulatory Compliance

  • Supporting Interac’s annual self-assessment against the 18 PPS Risk Management Standards as well as the final report development and approval including the public disclosure version.

  • Supporting business segments on the interpretation of Bank of Canada’s PPS requirements and how the regulatory requirements should apply to Interac.

  • Coordinate the compilation of ongoing reporting and notifications to the Bank of Canada required under the PPS Designation.

  • Supports business partners in their development of PPS remediation activities, ensuring they adequately meet the stated objective.

  • Working with business partners to obtain updates on PPS remediation activities and escalating delays in completion to the Senior Manager and Project Manager.

ERMF & Risk Transformation

  • Supporting first line of defence business partners in understanding and effectively defining risks in order to communicate them.

  • Supporting the Senior Manager and AVP in the design and implementation of risk management frameworks, processes and reporting in support of the three lines of defence risk management model.

  • Analyzing risks to determine risk drivers, impacts and controls.

  • Assessing risk based on metrics and appetite.

  • Providing risk expertise and guidance to business units and acting as the effective challenge of risk assessment results, as necessary.

  • Writing at a senior management, executive and Board level.

Who are you?

  • You have a university degree in Business, Finance or equivalent.

  • Seven (7) years relevant work experience, with significant experience in managing regulatory (e.g., the Bank of Canada, OSFI, Basel, etc.) compliance processes/programs or interpretating regulatory requirements to guide business implementation.

  • Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.

  • Have a thorough understanding of risk assessment best practices, concepts, practices and tools.

  • Strong working knowledge of relevant industry standards for risk management and controls.

  • Knowledge of payments technology and industry best practices.

  • Possess excellent organizational, communication and relationship building skills.

  • Strong analytical acumen, strategic thinking, professional judgement and creative problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • You approach issues and risks with the mentality of “how do we overcome” versus “can we overcome”.
