Reporting to the Data Strategy and Enablement Director, the BI Senior Specialist will scope, analyze, develop, automate, enhance, and validate BI reporting, analytics, and dashboard solutions in a timely and creative manner. They will take a holistic, high-level approach to collection and reporting of data for major projects and initiatives.

You're great at...

• Analyzing business intelligence data to help the leadership team make informed business and product decisions.

• Blending historical data from available industry reports, public information, field reports or purchased sources as input to analyses.

• Identifying and analyzing industry/geographic trends and competitor market strategies and monitoring current/potential customer trends.

• Defining visualization best practices, helping with dashboard optimization and exploring new sources of data representation to uncover new business opportunities at all levels of the business.

• Partnering with other areas of the business to model the outcome of implementing potential business strategies.

• Designing, building and deploying powerful BI solutions as per business requirements.

• Building customer facing BI reports and dashboards with Row level security.

• Conducting requirements analysis and translating data into informative reports, dashboards and KPIs.

• Connecting to data sources, import data, and transform data for Business Intelligence.

• Working with database schemas and referential integrity.

• Produce specialized reporting packages, dashboards and scorecards for the business.

• Crafting complex and comprehensive BI reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data infrastructure and external data sources.

• Validating the quality and integrity of the data included in all reporting.

• Developing substantial and insightful commentary/insights on new and existing reporting packages.

• Understanding business drivers, definitions and metrics in order to interpret findings, take action and provide relevant direction.

• Creating exploratory data analysis, reports, dashboards to surface data for different stakeholders.

Who are you?

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a BI Specialist with the ability to solve issues and coordinate across teams.

• Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.

• Proven work experience as a Tableau, Power BI Report designer & developer with a focus on front-end design.

• Proven, demonstrable experience in data modeling and data visualizations for Power BI/Tableau; working with different data schemas and BI implementation methodologies.

• Ability to write stored procedures, views, and SQL functions.

• Strong data modelling and UI/UX design skills considered an asset.

• Working knowledge of Python/R and how to integrate scripts in BI tools.

• An understanding of using query plans for performance optimization.

• Knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.

• Knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, Visual Studio, etc.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power BI development, publishing, and scheduling reports.

• Intermediate knowledge of Power Automate, Dynamics CRM, and Office 365.

• Excellent organization, planning, and prioritizing skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues.

• Ability to effectively communicate highly technical information to function, technical team members and management.

• The ability to give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information.

• Confidence in your ability to communicate detailed information in an impactful way.

• Understanding that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.

• Proactive problem-solver with a demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
