The performance test specialist works in a team and is responsible for performance testing to identify significant changes in system/application performance and behavior due to project development, prior to client deliveries.

What you’ll do

  • Work as a member of the performance testing team for Telus Health proprietary software to meet the requirements of our new and existing clients.

  • Participates in implementation planning and service enhancement projects.

  • Use OpenText Loadrunner (OpenText Professional Performance Engineering), JMeter and other technology tools and techniques employed by Telus Health.

  • Work under the supervision of senior members of a team and take the initiative to get assistance when required.

  • Perform designing, scripting, executing tests, results analysis, and preparing results reports.

  • Perform application deployments, configurations and support for test environments.

  • Set high standards for own work and ensure high quality outcomes are achieved.

  • Prepare project estimates and schedules of project activities as required.

  • Set realistic and achievable expectations for deliverables.

  • Ensure effective work habits including quality, punctuality, responsiveness and accessibility to others.

  • Provide timely feedback to team members on matters related to configuration and team interaction.

  • Work effectively as a member of the load and performance Team.

  • Promote teamwork and collegiality in the work environment.

  • Observe the corporate values of TELUS Health.

  • Promote TELUS Health as the service provider of choice in the industry.

  • Attend internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends.

  • Execute test processes to identify significant changes in system performance due to project development or infrastructure changes.

  • Manage existing scripts and implement new scripts to help automate long test cycles.

  • Review performance logs on a regular basis to proactively look for any irregularities.

  • Work with the team members and development groups to triage and investigate performance issues

  • Assist with special projects and other tasks, as required.

  • Overtime / after-hours may be required during peak seasons with time off in-lieu offered.

What you bring

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in an information technology related field.

  • Three (3) years of experience in load and performance testing using tools such as HP Loadrunner, JMeter and other industry standard performance test tools.

  • Technical experience with Windows server configuration optimization, application configurations, Scripting, ASP, ASP.NET, HTML, and SQL. Knowledge and experience with Linux o/s are an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with application designs, SDLC, application ecosystems and cloud technology.

  • Dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence.

  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Leadership skills to offer guidance, informed recommendations and support.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple Assignments.

  • Reliable, consistent, flexible and adaptable.
