Role Overview
The Associate Director, Financial Analysis (12-month contract) plays a pivotal role in supporting the finance team's operational workload and advancing strategic and transformational projects. The role centers on structured project execution and reliable financial analysis across forecasting, reporting, workforce planning, and compensation modeling. The contract position is suited to someone with strong analytical skills, practical project management experience, and the ability to work effectively with teams across the business to keep plans and processes moving forward smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance and Project Leadership:
- Execute finance-led strategic and transformational projects
- Manage project scope, timelines, communication, and coordination across Finance, HR, IT, and business partners
- Support adoption and engagement through clear communication and change management
Executive Analysis and Advisory:
- Deliver ad hoc analysis, scenario modeling, and briefing materials for senior leadership
- Conduct targeted research to support policy questions, strategic decisions, and corporate initiatives
FP&A, Reporting, and Workforce Planning
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning cycles
- Prepare or support monthly reporting, variance analysis, and performance commentary, including improvements to KPI frameworks and benchmarking
- Produce workforce planning analyses including hiring plans and cost assessments
Finance Operations and Data Support:
- Assist with finance workflows that require structured analysis or coordination
- Assess and optimize Finance processes for efficiency and automation
- Support digital transformation projects that reduce manual effort and improve data quality
- Maintain reporting, models, and templates tied to established finance processes
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of progressive experience in finance, corporate strategy, and/or consulting
- Proven track record of managing complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives
- Hands-on experience selecting, implementing, and managing financial and operational systems
- Interest and experience in adopting new technologies and exploring innovative ways of working
- Strong understanding of transactional finance operations
- Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
- Skilled in project management and adept at prioritizing and coordinating diverse teams
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills
- Proficiency in Power BI, Power Query and other platforms to drive automation and enable finance transformation
Education & Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
- CPA, MBA, or relevant graduate qualification strongly preferred.
