Index Exchange funds the open web. Content and journalism across the internet are funded through advertising, and we are the engine that helps to make that happen transparently, safely and efficiently. Handling hundreds of billions of auctions per day within milliseconds requires an intense understanding of the exchange and the ecosystem that we live in.

About The Role:

As a Senior Frontend Engineer you will join our team to work on tools that will increase efficiency for our publishers. You’ll have the opportunity to design and build user experiences that enable our customers to engage through the exchange. The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced engineer who is eager to demonstrate their technical vision and expertise by offering guidance and mentorship and has the ability to drive projects to completion.

• Build Real Trust. It Doesn't Just Happen: A Senior Frontend Engineer has built great knowledge of our systems and technologies, and uses that knowledge to provide guidance. They take great care to ensure their information is accurate. They use this combined with experience to provide forecasts and commitments on large projects and work to deliver on them, raising issues as they surface.
• Be Intentional. Launching is Fun. It’s the Landing that counts: A Senior Frontend Engineer takes ownership of large projects and components. They work with Product and leaders to set goals and follow through with data to validate outcomes. They work towards completion, ensuring serviceability, telemetry and high quality are part of their definitions of done.

Here’s What You’ll be Doing:

• Embodies cross team collaboration and extensively working with other teams across Index to achieve the team’s goals
• Contributes to standards, adheres to laid out processes and strives towards continuous improvement of engineering as a whole
• Takes ownership of their work, works with peers in their division to avoid silos and leads by example
• Applies technology principles and design techniques to complex systems
• Participates in review of designs/code of other engineers and provide suggestions for improvements

Here's What You Need:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with TypeScript and web-based development frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue
• Design patterns and web-based development.
• Experience in one or more of the following are beneficial
• Languages: Typescript, Angular, Golang
• Tools and Technologies: K8s, Cypress
• Methodologies: SOLID principles, microservice architecture
• Experience working with Linux environments, resilient and scalable platforms is an asset
• Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to think differently, and an understanding that compromise, negotiation and practicality are important qualities
• A desire to work with and learn from the people around you – we greatly value people and interactions
• Experienced in designing and leading the completion of software projects
• Demonstrable expertise in API design/development is beneficial. Experience in designing, developing and testing high quality APIs and Web applications
