Role (Description)
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strategic LinkedIn content calendar that supports brand awareness, recruitment, and customer engagement.
- Craft and publish thought leadership content, team spotlights, product/capability highlights, and campaign-driven posts.
- Actively monitor and engage with industry conversations to amplify visibility among defense, national security, and technology audiences.
- Analyze performance metrics and use insights to continuously refine content strategy
- Write and edit clear, compelling copy for technical and non-technical audiences across email campaigns, one-pagers, newsletters, and web content.
- Translate complex technical capabilities into crisp, value-driven messaging that resonates with government, military, and defense contractor stakeholders.
- Ensure all communications reflect the company’s brand voice and mission-driven values.
- Regularly update website content, including landing pages, product overviews, case studies, and hiring pages.
- Coordinate with design/development partners to enhance user experience and support lead generation.
- Ensure messaging is consistent with current campaigns, offerings, and strategic priorities.
- Identify and manage participation in relevant defense, public safety, and national security events and conferences.
- Oversee event logistics, including booth coordination, promotional material, demo prep, and team schedules.
- Collaborate with business development and engineering teams to ensure event presence aligns with growth strategy.
- Support post-event lead capture, follow-up campaigns, and performance tracking.
- Assist in the planning and execution of integrated campaigns that drive awareness, demand, and recruitment.
- Coordinate across marketing, business development, and product teams to align messaging with strategic objectives.
- Contribute to campaign reporting and ongoing iteration based on performance metrics.
- Manage the production of high-quality branded collateral and promotional items that reinforce credibility and professionalism in high-stakes environments.
- Work closely with designers and vendors to ensure materials are distinctive and aligned with the company’s brand identity.
- Maintain inventory and distribution processes for marketing and event materials.
- Monitor competitor marketing, trends in defense tech, and evolving needs in national security to inform messaging and differentiation.
- Assist in refining positioning and brand narrative as the company scales.
Prerequisites
- Eligible for Government of Canada security clearance (minimum Reliability; Top Secret eligibility is an asset).
- 5+ years of professional experience in a marketing, communications, or content-focused role — ideally in a tech or government/defense-adjacent setting.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a portfolio of clear, compelling content for web, social, or campaign materials.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where adaptability and initiative are highly valued.
- Proficiency with content management systems (e.g., SquareSpace or similar), basic design tools (e.g., Canva, Figma, or Adobe suite), and social media platforms (especially LinkedIn).
- Experience coordinating events or campaigns, including handling logistics and cross-team collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Desired Skills/Assets
- Experience marketing products or services in the defense, national security, public safety, or government tech sectors.
- Familiarity with military or defense contracting environments, including trade shows, procurement cycles, or government communications standards.
- Knowledge of basic SEO principles, analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), or marketing automation platforms.
- Experience creating or editing visual content, such as infographics, slide decks, or simple videos.
- Comfort working with technical subject matter, including software, sensors, data systems, or AI/ML concepts.
- A demonstrated interest in national security, defense innovation, or mission-focused technology.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset, especially for government-facing communications.
