Job Type: Full Time (Ottawa or Remote)
Role (Description)
We are seeking a resourceful, detail-oriented, and mission-driven Marketing Specialist to support our growing marketing and communications efforts. This intermediate-level role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment and is excited by the opportunity to help a cutting-edge defense tech company tell its story.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, capable organizer, and versatile team player—equally comfortable writing crisp, engaging content and managing event logistics or website updates. You’ll be joining a small, collaborative team where your work will directly contribute to our brand presence, business development, and recruitment efforts as we scale.
This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys both creative work and operational execution, and who takes pride in producing high-quality, professional results in a domain where trust, clarity, and credibility matter.

- Translate complex technical capabilities into crisp, value-driven messaging that resonates with government, military, and defense contractor stakeholders.
- Ensure all communications reflect the company’s brand voice and mission-driven values.
Website Management (SquareSpace)
- Regularly update website content, including landing pages, product overviews, case studies, and hiring pages.
- Coordinate with design/development partners to enhance user experience and support lead generation.
- Ensure messaging is consistent with current campaigns, offerings, and strategic priorities.
Trade Show & Event Coordination
- Identify and manage participation in relevant defense, public safety, and national security events and conferences.
- Oversee event logistics, including booth coordination, promotional material, demo prep, and team schedules.
- Collaborate with business development and engineering teams to ensure event presence aligns with growth strategy.
- Support post-event lead capture, follow-up campaigns, and performance tracking.
Campaign Support
- Assist in the planning and execution of integrated campaigns that drive awareness, demand, and recruitment.
- Coordinate across marketing, business development, and product teams to align messaging with strategic objectives.

- Manage the production of high-quality branded collateral and promotional items that reinforce credibility and professionalism in high-stakes environments.
- Work closely with designers and vendors to ensure materials are distinctive and aligned with the company’s brand identity.
- Maintain inventory and distribution processes for marketing and event materials.
Market Intelligence & Positioning
- Monitor competitor marketing, trends in defense tech, and evolving needs in national security to inform messaging and differentiation.
- Assist in refining positioning and brand narrative as the company scales.
Prerequisites
- Eligible for Government of Canada security clearance (minimum Reliability; Top Secret eligibility is an asset).
- 5+ years of professional experience in a marketing, communications, or content-focused role — ideally in a tech or government/defense-adjacent setting.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a portfolio of clear, compelling content for web, social, or campaign materials.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
