ABOUT US
At Planitar, we build technology that helps people see and understand the world’s spaces more clearly.
We are the creators of iGUIDE, a powerful property technology solution that combines immersive 3D tours, accurate floor plans and reliable spatial data into a single, easy-to-use system. Our cameras and software platform are used by professionals in real estate, insurance, construction and property management to simplify their work and deliver better results.
Planitar recently joined REA Group, one of the world’s leading digital property companies. REA operates Australia’s largest residential and commercial property platforms, including realestate.com.au and has a growing global footprint across Asia and North America. Together, we are shaping the future of property technology, combining Planitar’s deep spatial data expertise with REA’s global scale and innovation engine.
We work in a hybrid environment headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario and are growing quickly as we expand our impact worldwide.
OUR VISION
A connected future where reliable spatial data enables informed decisions across the property lifecycle.
We believe that accurate, accessible spatial data has the power to transform how people buy, sell, insure, build and manage property.
OUR VALUES
Our values guide how we work, build and grow together.
- Integrity: We do the right thing, even when it’s hard.
- Teamwork: We are one team, on a big mission.
- Innovation: We value creative solutions for emerging opportunities.
- Accountability: We honour our commitments.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Planitar is looking for a curious, driven, and service-oriented Business Analyst to join our growing team, acting as a trusted partner to our Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and Engineering teams.
The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding how our business runs, identifying where processes and systems can better support our growth, and translating those insights into clear requirements and recommendations. This role sits between the business and IT — helping departments articulate what they need, shaping solutions that fit, and working with IT to bring those solutions to life.
You'll spend your time talking to people, mapping workflows, documenting requirements, and helping teams get more value from the tools they already use — including Netsuite (Finance), Smartsheets (Managed Services), ZenDesk (Product Support), HubSpot (Sales & Marketing), and BambooHR (People & Culture).
What You'll Do
- Partner with department leaders and subject matter experts to understand their workflows, pain points, and goals.
- Elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements through interviews, workshops, and process mapping.
- Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and process documentation that IT and vendors can act on.
- Support new system implementations, upgrades, and rollouts — including requirements definition, user acceptance testing, change management, training, and post-launch review.
- Act as a go-to resource for business process questions across Planitar's core operational tools.
- Develop and maintain clear process documentation, standard operating procedures, and user-facing guides.
- Deliver training and ongoing guidance to employees to drive adoption and consistent use of tools and processes.
- Continuously look for opportunities to streamline, simplify, and improve how work gets done across teams.
- Partner with IT to ensure recommended solutions align with security, compliance, and data privacy standards.
What We’re Looking For
- Business Analysis: Skilled at uncovering the real problem behind the stated one, and shaping it into a well-defined solution.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Builds trust and credibility with people at all levels; turns operational needs into clear, actionable requirements.
- Process Orientation: Sees the end-to-end flow of work and designs clear, repeatable processes that improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Systems Thinking: Understands how tools, workflows, and data interconnect, and anticipates the downstream impact of changes.
- Analytical Problem Solving: Diagnoses issues methodically and proposes practical, scalable solutions.
- Communication & Training: Explains concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences; promotes adoption through coaching and support.
- Change Agility: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and evolving business needs.
- Attention to Detail: Maintains accuracy and rigor in documentation, requirements, and analysis.
- Proactive Ownership: Takes initiative to identify improvement opportunities and drive them through to completion.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3–5+ years of experience in a business analyst or similar role, ideally supporting cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of gathering requirements, mapping processes, and supporting the implementation of business systems.
- Familiarity with SaaS business applications such as Smartsheets, ZenDesk, HubSpot, Netsuite, or similar (working knowledge is sufficient — you don't need to be an administrator).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for translating between business and technical audiences.
- Excellent documentation habits and a structured, detail-oriented approach.
- Comfort working with IT partners on solution design, without being expected to build or configure systems yourself.
- Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or similar) considered an asset.
WHY WORK AT PLANITAR
We’re in an exciting phase of growth; evolving our technology, expanding globally and scaling our operations. This is your opportunity to shape the future of property technology alongside a talented, driven team.
We offer:
- 100% employer-paid flexible benefits plan

- Comprehensive Health & Dental coverage
-
- 3% RRSP/DPSP Match
-
- Health Spending Account (HSA) or Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) options
- A collaborative and innovative culture
- Opportunities to grow as we scale
- The backing of a global industry leader through REA Group
If you’re excited about building technology that makes property decisions smarter and more connected, we’d love to hear from you.
