People and Culture Generalist

We are seeking a proactive and highly organized People & Culture Generalist (U.S.) to serve as a key partner in building and managing core HR operations across the U.S. employee base. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on people operations, benefits, compliance, onboarding/offboarding, and culture enablement, designed for someone excited to work in a dynamic, scaling environment with a growing People and Culture team.
You’ll own the day-to-day people operations for U.S.-based employees, act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers and help embed Gravity’s values into the employee experience.
What You'll Bring
People Operations & Systems
- Manage and maintain our HRIS and employee records (Rippling), ensuring data accuracy and system integrity.
- Draft and process offer letters, employment agreements, and amendments in line with U.S. employment law.
- Support onboarding and offboarding activities, coordinating cross-functionally with IT, Finance, and hiring managers.
- Respond to HR inquiries and provide day-to-day support on policies, leave, org changes, and employee lifecycle events.
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement automation where possible.
- Partner with Finance to support payroll processing for U.S. employees, ensuring timely and accurate updates to compensation and deductions.
- Own benefits administration in the U.S. (401(k) etc.)—including enrollments, life event changes, and renewals.
- Serve as the first point of contact for U.S. employees on benefits questions, educating and supporting employees across health, retirement, and wellness programs.
- Administer federal/state leaves (FMLA, ADA, paid/unpaid leaves) and track time-off accurately.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. federal, state, and local labor laws (FLSA, ACA, EEO, ADA, etc.).
- Maintain required documentation and assist in audit readiness for employment records and policies.
- Generate HR reports and dashboards for leadership, including headcount, attrition, and engagement trends.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2–4 years of HR Generalist experience with demonstrated ownership of U.S. HR operations.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. labor and employment regulations across multiple states (California experience a plus).
- Previous experience supporting HR in startup, SaaS is a strong asset.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, and evolving company with shifting priorities.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a service-oriented mindset.
- Familiarity with tools such as Rippling, DocuSign, Slack is highly desirable.
