The Opportunity

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Junior Graphic Designer student to join our creative team for an 8 month Co-op position (May to December 2026). In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our marketing creative team, contributing to the visual aspects of our social and advertising campaigns. This is an excellent opportunity for a student looking to gain hands-on experience in the gaming industry and build a portfolio of impactful work.

A Graphic Design Co-op’s Impact

  • Create Engaging Visual Assets:
    • Work closely with the Marketing and Content team to create a library of visual assets to be used for promotional purposes (both social and paid advertising)
  • Collaborate with the Design Team:
    • Work closely with game designers, artists, and developers to ensure visual consistency and alignment with the game’s overall aesthetic.
  • Conceptualize New Ideas:
    • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for new marketing campaigns, game concepts and features.
  • Stay Updated on Industry Trends:
    • Keep abreast of the latest design trends and technologies, including AI tools, in the gaming and entertainment industry to ensure our games and marketing materials remain cutting-edge and visually appealing.

Your Track Record Includes

  • Education:
    • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Game Design, or a related field.
  • Status:
    • You are a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or a Protected Person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
    • Basic knowledge of Figma
    • Basic knowledge of AI tools (image generation, chats, etc..)
    • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, Maya) is a plus.
  • Portfolio:
    • A strong portfolio showcasing your design skills, creativity, and passion for gaming. Please include examples of both personal and academic projects.
  • Communication Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to discussions.
  • Creativity and Problem-Solving:
    • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually stunning designs. Ability to think creatively and solve design challenges.

This position is part of DigiBC’s Work Placement Program, which supports post-secondary students by providing experiential learning opportunities in animation, video, games, visual effects, and XR. As a part of this program, participating students will benefit from customized orientation workshops, e-learning resources, mentoring support, and the opportunity to start building their own professional network in the creative technology industry.
