The Opportunity
In this 8-month position as a Full-Stack Developer Co-op Student, you'll be part of a passionate, collaborative team that values curiosity, player-first thinking, and continuous learning. This is a hands-on opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You’ll contribute to features that touch both the game front-end and the live operations back-end, building tools and systems that support real-time gameplay, content pipelines, and player experience. You’ll gain invaluable exposure to a commercial game development environment and see how your work directly shapes the entertainment experiences of players around the globe.
Full-Stack Developer’s Impact
- Collaborate with game teams and platform engineers to build and maintain scalable tools, pipelines, and services that support live operations and game development workflows.
- Contribute to the design and development of internal platforms that enhance developer productivity and system reliability.
- Implement and improve logging, alerting, and observability tools to support diagnostics and live troubleshooting.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, code reviews, and team retrospectives.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code and scripts for cloud-native systems and backend services.
- Investigate, triage, and resolve operational issues, helping to ensure performance, uptime, and scalability across game services.
Your Track Record Includes
- Currently enrolled in a Computer Science or Software Engineering post-secondary degree and Co-op program.
- Solid understanding of programming C# fundamentals and React.
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks and/or backend services is a plus.
- Interest in gaming, game design, or interactive digital experiences.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic about learning in a fast-paced environment.
- Currently located in British Columbia.

This position is part of DigiBC’s Work Placement Program, which supports post-secondary students by providing experiential learning opportunities in animation, video, games, visual effects, and XR. As a part of this program, participating students will benefit from customized orientation workshops, e-learning resources, mentoring support, and the opportunity to start building their own professional network in the creative technology industry. This position is open to students who are Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, or Protected Person as defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
