Your Mission:
Join our dynamic and growing team in Melbourne as a Civil Engineer and play a critical part in the development and construction of our cutting-edge power generation facilities.
As a Civil Engineer for Hydrostor you will play a key role in helping to advance our Silver City Project in Broken Hill. You will work across all civil elements on the project and will be instrumental in documentation / packaging, managing design consultants, general construction support and scheduling and planning.
Your Day-to-Day Adventures:
Design and Documentation
- Determine the discipline scope of work and lead the development of civil designs, drawings in alignment with project requirements.
- Document all aspects of product design and development, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards and Hydrostor directives.
- Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery to commissioning and handover to Operations.
Systems Integration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project teams, sourcing teams, procurement, construction and maintenance to ensure seamless integration of civil packages of works.
Product Management
- Take ownership of the design process, ensuring that all design components and concepts are effectively incorporated into Hydrostor's documentation.
- Hand off comprehensive design documentation to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) teams for implementation, and provide ongoing oversight on those activities thereafter
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Engage across different disciplines to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing, ensuring the successful execution of power generation projects.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between various teams involved in the project.
Candidate/Employee Overview:
The successful candidate for this role will be an experienced Civil Engineer with a proven track record in large scale projects ideally in the renewables sector. They will thrive in a collaborative environment, excel in documentation and product / project management, and possess the ability to bridge the gap between design concepts and real-world implementation.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in design, development and delivery of projects.
- Proficiency in managing consultants and their performance.
- Proficiency in design and documentation tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Excellent organizational skills to work within a project management system to advance ideas and designs through structured review and documentation steps.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in project management or leadership roles.
