Your Mission:
As a Corporate Finance Associate at Hydrostor, you will be supporting the Corporate Finance Director and play a crucial role in contributing to the company's financial success. Your primary responsibilities will include involvement in project financing, capital raises, and mergers and acquisitions activities. Reporting directly to the Corporate Finance Director, your work will directly impact the organization's financial performance. This position operates on an international level, supporting our operations in Canada, the US, and Australia.
Your Day-to-Day Adventures
Due Diligence Work Streams:
- Coordinate the flow of information between internal teams and external parties
- Ensure timely responses to investors, financiers, and consultants
- Manage virtual data rooms (VDRs)
- Assist in the analysis and preparation of pitching materials and reports related to capital raises and mergers and acquisitions
- Review insurance, technical, market, and financial materials
- Take necessary actions and conduct regular check-ins following meetings
Financial Modeling:
- Develop and maintain financial models to support financings and valuations
Financial Reporting:
- Assist in the financial reporting process, including preparing materials for management and the Board of Directors
- Monitor and report on financing agreements
- Work closely with the FP&A Manager
Industry Analysis:
- Develop a solid understanding of the energy industry and energy storage markets to create relevant benchmarks and analyses
International Operations:
- Support operations across Canada, the US, and Australia, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
Who You Are:
We are seeking a collaborative team player who excels in building cross-functional relationships and has a meticulous eye for detail. The ideal candidate is proactive and adaptable, capable of earning the respect and confidence of both colleagues and external stakeholders. You should be driven to follow up on outstanding information or actions and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Flexibility and a willingness to put in extra effort to meet project deadlines are essential for success in this role.
What You Bring
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role within the energy or finance market
- Undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field
- Possession of a CFA or other advanced financial designation would be an asset
- Strong proficiency in creating financial models and cash flows
- Strong quantitative aptitude with an extremely high attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders and counterparties
- Flexibility to handle multiple tasks to meet project timelines
- Finance acumen and an understanding of investments, valuation, and basic tax concepts
- Experience in deal execution and loan monitoring (covenants, financial reporting)
