- Investigation: Provide oversight to geotechnical site investigations, including soil and rock sampling, laboratory and in-situ testing, geophysical surveys, and geological mapping, to assess subsurface conditions and inform project design.
- Design: Develop geotechnical design parameters and recommendations for underground structures, including caverns and shafts, ensuring stability and safety in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support Systems: Design, specify and optimize ground support systems, including rock bolts, shotcrete and ground reinforcement, to mitigate geologic hazards and ensure the long-term stability and performance of underground structures.
- Oversight: Provide geotechnical oversight during underground construction activities, including shaft excavation, drilling and blasting, to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety protocols.
- and Monitoring: Install and monitor geotechnical instrumentation, such as telltales, piezometers, and extensometers, to assess ground behaviour and performance during construction and operation.
- Assessment: Conduct geotechnical risk assessments and analyses, including rockfall hazard assessment, embankment stability analysis, and groundwater flow analysis, to identify and mitigate potential risks to project safety and performance.
- Support: Provide technical support and expertise to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, addressing geological/geotechnical challenges and optimizing project outcomes through proactive problem-solving and collaboration.
- and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive geotechnical reports, drawings, and documentation, summarizing site investigations, design analyses, and construction activities, to support project documentation and regulatory compliance.
