Role description:
TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Apply technical engineering techniques and methods using international design standards such as UK, US and Middle East Codes.
- Prepare drawing markups and other design related documents as assigned by the SE, PE and FL.
- Conduct internal review and quality checks of engineering drawings and design calculations to ensure compliance with the project's requirements.
- Prepare and register all relevant documentation and design reports and ensure all documentation is accurate and in compliance with the Arcadis requirements.
- Apply engineering solutions, techniques and methods to design of electrical business solutions such as interior and exterior lighting, low voltage power distribution and wiring installations, telecommunications, fire detection and alarm, and security.
- Participate in the resolution of technical issues.
- Liaise with other disciplines within the MEP Project Team for coordination MEP works and ensure all requirements are understood.
- Learn and apply REVIT/BIM Technologies and emerging technology.
COMMERCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Record man-hour charges accurately into weekly timesheets and ensure correctness of project and non-project man-hour charges.
- To be fully utilized. Always seek new work/tasks from Senior Engineers.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Resource and develop skills and knowledge base of Assistant and Graduate Engineers assigned to projects.
- Familiarize the CIBSE Training and Development Scheme and render mentoring duties to all Assistant and Graduate Engineers based on the CIBSE Competence Criteria.
- Liaise with BIM Manager and BIM Coordinators assigned to projects.
- Self time-management
OTHERS:
- Take responsibility for defined tasks within prescribed limits.
- Gain experience and proficiency in Arcadis systems and procedures.
- Become familiar and compliant with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from recognized University.
- Belong to the top 20% of the engineering class
- Licensed Registered Electrical Engineer (REE).
- 5 to 7 years of relevant post-graduate experience.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent mathematical skills applied in engineering calculations.
- Organizational skills and proactive approach in project management.
- Ability to provide solutions to technical problems;
- Ability to lead, with good influencing, motivating and delegating skills.
- Proficient in the application of international design standards: UK, US and Middle East.
- Proficient in the following electrical engineering design fundamentals: lighting illumination, emergency lighting, power distribution and wiring installations, telecommunications, fire detection and alarm, and security.
- Knowledgeable in AUTOCAD/REVIT/Navisworks and BIM environment.
- Proficiency in using the following engineering software is an advantage: DIALUX, AGI32, AMTECH, ETAP and NAVISWORKS, Generator Selection, Lightning Protection Design Software and Microsoft Office.
- Actively continue to develop personally and technical knowledge and new emerging technology through regular CPD training.
