- Pioneer future development and technical execution for international use cases.
- Provide solutions and guidance on methodologies for globalization of applications and services to ensure they are world-ready.
- Deliver complex features and help our team pioneer new functionalities for our customers leveraging Scala, Typescript, Swift, Kotlin, and technologies like GCP Big Table, Pub/Sub, and Big Query, Cloud SQL, Redis, Datadog.
- Collaborate directly with the company’s technology leadership and other teams on ensuring Hopper’s success, giving and receiving feedback for growth.
- Ensure a highly available and resilient system and foster a culture of excellence.
An ideal candidate has:
- 5+ years of professional full-time in software engineering with a focus on full stack (backend leaning) development
- Can lead technical conversations, and drive towards smart architecture and system design decisions.
- Inspires trust in their domain expertise (internationalization) when advising other engineers in the company, while at the same time showing competence in engineering design beyond internationalization.
- Takes pride in ownership and thinks for the long term and is a strong advocate for building stable, future proof, services and systems.
- Can make the correct tradeoffs between moving quickly and building stable systems, with a strong bias towards documentation for systems, apis, architecture decisions, etc.
- Understands the requirements and purpose of strong operational process
- Experience in building front-end applications with modern web development technologies.
- Internationalization and localization domain knowledge and/or enthusiasm.
