Virtual Interlining offers customers additional travel options by combining together multiple individual travel segments through self-transfers. These unique itineraries unlock new destinations, save customers time, money, and offer customers increased selection when they are booking travel. Hopper has developed its own Virtual Interlining engine and has been selling this content for several years. More recently, we’ve started to offer this type of content to other businesses selling travel.
We are looking for a Software Engineer to help design and scale our forward distribution systems and deliver content. You will work on a mix of our internal product and external client facing microservices written in Scala using JSON/gRPC.
What would your day-to-day look like
- You will be a hands-on contributor helping to build and scale our backend distribution architecture to thousands of requests per second. You will get the opportunity to see you work in partner production websites and assist in solving new provider specific problems.
An ideal candidate has
- Have worked with external facing APIs previously.
- Pragmatic Scala experience or strong development skills in Java.
- Good CS fundamentals of scaling and time & space complexity
