About the Role
HeyOrca is looking for a QA Specialist (Contract) to help our development team ship reliable, stable, and customer-friendly releases. This role is hands-on, focused primarily on manual testing, and will be key in ensuring that our product meets the high standards our customers expect.
We’re looking for someone detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to dive into the workflows of social media managers and agencies to ensure HeyOrca delivers a seamless experience.
Responsibilities
As a QA Specialist, you’ll be responsible for ensuring high-quality releases by:
- Manual Testing
- Execute functional, regression, and exploratory testing on new features and bug fixes
- Validate cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
- Test against various social media platform requirements (e.g., media formats, publishing rules)
- Identify, document, and track bugs through Jira
- QA Process & Documentation
- Create and maintain clear, reproducible test cases and scenarios
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria
- Contribute to QA documentation and knowledge base for the team
- Collaboration
- Participate in project meetings, providing input on testability and potential risks
- Partner closely with product, engineering and customer care to triage issues
- Advocate for the end-user experience by raising quality concerns early
What we're looking for
Must Have
- Experience in manual QA testing of web and mobile applications
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, testing types, and defect tracking
- Experience with issue-tracking tools (Jira)
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-moving environment
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with social media platforms and their publishing requirements
- Experience with CI/CD environments and release processes
- Exposure to automation frameworks (Playwright, Puppeteer, or Selenium)
- Basic familiarity with Git-based tools (Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab) for reviewing commits, PRs, and branches
