Description

The Product Manager serves as the operational backbone of the product development function, driving the connection between company leadership and the development team to ensure the right things get built in the right order. Reporting to the COO, this role converts strategic plays into clear, actionable work for engineering, sets the pace for delivery through key planning huddles, and ensures that every player is kept in the loop on context, calls, and progress. The ideal candidate blends technical savvy with sharp communication, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and takes pride in delivering the behind-the-scenes clarity that gets great software across the finish line.

Key Accountabilities

1. Leadership – Product Function Representative (5% of time)
Represent the product development function in cross-functional discussions, providing visibility into roadmap status, engineering capacity, and delivery risk, while contributing product and technical perspectives that inform company strategy.
2. Roadmap Execution and Backlog Management (40% of time)
  1. Maintain the product roadmap as a living artifact, translating COO-driven priorities into a sequenced, actionable plan for the development team.
  2. Write clear, developer-ready tickets with well-defined requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria that minimise ambiguity and back-and-forth.
  3. Ensure tickets, workflows, and product decisions are scoped in accordance with applicable data privacy regulations (PIPEDA, HIPAA and others) and internal security best practices, escalating compliance concerns to the appropriate stakeholder.
  4. Own backlog grooming, sprint planning, and refinement ceremonies, triaging incoming issues and escalating prioritisation decisions to the COO as appropriate.
3. Product Delivery and Quality (35% of time)
  1. Coordinate with engineering and QA to ensure releases are well-tested, properly documented, and communicated internally, maintaining enough technical context to proactively resolve scope and feasibility questions before they become blockers.
  2. Contribute to UX and workflow design within tickets, ensuring logical, consistent user experiences aligned with product direction.
  3. Track product adoption and flag meaningful signals to the COO to inform prioritisation decisions.
4. Cross-Functional Alignment (20% of time)
  1. Serve as a conduit between the development team, sales, customer success, and company leadership, ensuring priorities, decisions, and roadmap updates flow clearly in both directions.
  2. Bring the voice of the customer and the sales pipeline into product planning discussions in collaboration with the CSM and sales functions.

5. Other responsibilities as the role requires.
