- Build & foster a highly productive team of Software Developers, with a secure & scalable Software Architecture that serves the business & customer needs

- Continue investing in modernizing Platform Technology to match the newly established Architecture Standards and product technology vision
- Establish a Security & Privacy office that serves employees & customers interests and adheres to compliance and regulatory standards
Leadership Responsibilities
- Hire & recruit Engineering talent across the business
- Work closely with leadership team to advise and support on growing our teams, including helping to create structure, frameworks, and best practices
- Participate in the leadership team weekly meeting, and quarterly & annual planning, to ensure alignment, accountability, and achievement of target
- Reviewing team pay banding and insuring our pay strategy is competitive
- Manage, lead, inspire, and coach the Engineering talent across the business
- Help ensure an equitable organization that values inclusion, diversity, and belonging
- Collaborate with Finance on operating budgets
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to ensure smooth delivery of product features and enhancements
- Communicate to investors, including Board meetings and due diligence
- Help with due diligence and process implementations for a potential acquisition or IPO
Technology Responsibilities
- Facilitates communication into and out of the team with end-users and other stakeholders
- Fosters a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing within their team and other teams in collaboration with other business stakeholders
- Fosters a culture of clear, concise, effective, audience-oriented communication on their team, ensuring teammates actively listen to others and are understood
- Maintain sufficient documentation for Scientific Research and tax incentive programs and ensure timely annual completion
- Drive a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within the engineering organization
Platform Engineering Responsibilities
- Delivery of the technical and product roadmaps
- Design structure of team in conjunction with Head of Product
- Balance business needs and iteration on the platform with legacy technical debt to ensure high value delivery
- Tactically participate in code reviews, troubleshooting software bugs, and other technical issues as needed
- Design and maintain platform hosting, cloud, and architectural strategy
- Evaluate opportunities for technical advancement of the infrastructure to improve overall reliability and observability.
- Oversee the development and execution of scalable and secure platform architecture, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and extensibility
Product Responsibilities
- Ensure harmony with between Product & Engineering teams
- Provide guidance and support to the Product team where you can improve process or strategy
- Make sure the Engineering team and Product team are working smoothly together to ship: Good, Fast, Secure, and Cheap
- Participate in Product Strategy discussion and planning to represent cross-departmental technology concerns
Security & Privacy Responsibilities
- Refine the Platform’s approach to security and privacy based on the organization's security and privacy strategy.
- Actively promote best practices for security within the architectural reviews and technical implementation of new features
- Act as the Security Officer for the business to meet regulatory requirements
- Put process and procedures in place to make sure we are compliant with the level of security required
- Ensure security best practices are applied when it comes to company data, customer data, and creator data
- Be responsible for internal policies around data sharing and information access
- Ensure privacy standards are being met, in accordance with the law, for all global markets we operate in
- Ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
Our Tech Stack
- For designing and documenting APIs (we use Node.js, Fastify, OpenAPI Spec)
- Front-end development (ES2019 JavaScript, React, CSS)
- Back-end development (we use Node.js)
- Database engines (we use PostgreSQL, Redis)
- Senior-level knowledge of client-side testing best practices and tooling (we use Tap, Jest)
- React and Redux
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
- 8 years working in a technological role
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, with a proven track record of scaling engineering teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Deep understanding of modern technology stacks, architecture patterns, and best practices for building scalable, secure, and reliable systems
- Advanced technological skill set and a demonstrated history with technology
- Strong knowledge of security and privacy regulations, standards, and best practices (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2, ISO 27001)
- Exceptional team management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to delegate efficiently
- Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future
- A creative problem solver, able to make quality decisions while managing multiple teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
