The primary responsibility of the position is to perform and oversee safe, quality repairs to customer equipment in a timely manner, utilizing experience and continuous process improvement to contribute to our team and work environment. Service Centre Work with Standard Work procedures to identify areas for improvementEnsure all work being performed is done following healthy and safety guidelinesAbility to diagnose our customers most challenging technical issues, including aftertreatment systems, engine electrical diagnostics, ABS and TCS diagnosticsEnsure all equipment is in safe working condition and advise Service Manager of any tools or equipment that require vendor repair or replacementEscalate safety concerns to Service Manager immediatelyMaintain open communication with Foreman through continuous updates and at team huddlesMonitor jobs to avoid any problems or delays ahead of timeInvolve Parts Planner immediately in any parts requiredPerform all types of repairs and maintenance to transportation equipmentPerform all tasks to best practices timelinesProvide necessary hand tools for job completionPerform welding, including arc, MIG, Aluminum, Steel, air arc, plasma cutting and acetylene cuttingPerform all types of brake, suspension, air system, electrical and body repairsPerform government safety inspectionsEnsure all parts and consumables being used are recorded on the work order at time of useAlways keep work area in standard operating condition, including tools stored in standard locationsOccasional road service calls for emergency servicePromote a safe work environment, always follow safety standards and ensure timely reporting of any Health and Safety issuesOther work as may be defined Education and Training Grade 12 or equivalent with technical training310T Truck & Coach Certification Skills and Experience Certified to perform government inspections: trucks, trailers, tankersAble to use large toolsExperts in truck diagnostic analysis and resolutionPersonal leadership skillsExperience in a supervisory or managerial role would be an assetWillingness and desire to coach and mentor othersCommitment to personal safety and safety of coworkers.Good written and oral communicationValid provincial driver’s license and clean driver’s abstractA cooperative team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethicStrong technical skills related to transportation equipmentFluent in reading and writing in English The salary range for this position is $44 per hour - $48 per hour based on relevant credentials and experience.
