Manager, Parts Planning - Truck & Trailer

As Manager, Parts Planning - Truck and Trailer, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the truck and trailer parts procurement process, ensuring that all activities, ranging from procurement to distribution, align with the Company’s strategic objectives. Your leadership in this role will drive operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and continuous improvement, contributing to the overall success and growth of the organization.
This role reports to our Senior Director, Commercial & Vocational Truck and Trailer Parts and plays a key part in supporting GoRight’s mission for operational excellence and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Data Management
- Maintain accurate part master data (descriptions, pricing, vendor setup) and ensure accuracy across all locations
- Audit inventory records to improve data quality and reduce errors
Vehicle Maintenance Reporting Standard Codification (VMRS)
- Assign and maintain correct VMRS codes for all parts and audit codes to enhance reporting accuracy and cost tracking
Ordering Controls
- Set and update min/max levels based on usage trends
- Manage replenishment triggers and handle exceptions
- Coordinate urgent and special orders to minimize downtime
Multi-Site Inventory Oversight
- Monitor inventory across service centres and mobile sites
- Ensure daily replenishment and mobile inventory tracking
Reporting & Analytics
- Generate reports on turnover, usage, cost savings, and fill rates
- Track KPIs to support continuous improvement and help develop automated reporting tools for inventory performance
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Build and maintain strong vendor relationships
- Support pricing negotiations that align with procurement strategy
Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Partner with maintenance, procurement, finance, and site teams
- Create training on inventory processes as well as recommend and implement systems/process enhancements
- Collaborate on long-term procurement strategies with the Sr. Director of Parts
What You Bring:
- 3-5 years’ experience in parts procurement/management, preferably in trucking or heavy equipment
- Solid knowledge of inventory systems and procurement best practices
- Advanced skills in Excel, and familiarity with PowerBI is a plus
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- A proactive mindset and willingness to learn and grow
- Lean Six Sigma familiarity
- Experience with mobile inventory or multi-site operations
- Strategic planning and leadership capabilities
