We are seeking two very experienced Business Intelligence Specialists to work out of our Mississauga, Ontario or Kitchener, Ontariolocation. If you have 10 or more years experience with Business Intelligence platforms and are ready for your next challenge, we want to hear from you.

The Business Intelligence Specialists will work with our Data and Analytics team. The chosen candidates will be highly motivated and experienced BI professionals that will participate and contribute to all areas of advanced BI & analytics. These BI Specialists are expected to be experts in BI analytics and able to scope, analyze, develop, automate, enhance, and validate BI reporting, analytics, and dashboard solutions in a timely and creative manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build and deploy powerful BI solutions as per business requirements.
  • Conduct requirements analysis and translate data into informative reports, dashboards and KPI’s.
  • Connect to data sources, import data, and transform data for Business Intelligence.
  • Work with database schemas and referential integrity.
  • Performance tuning and indexing with help from DBA.
  • · Implement row level security on data and application of security layer models in Power BI.
  • Create DAX queries in Power BI desktop.
  • Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.
  • Create and maintain ETL processes.
  • Support and enhance existing reports and dashboards based on evolving business needs.
  • Maintain and develop new approaches to automate internal and external data retrieval, client reporting and operational process. Interface with cross-functional teams to build centralized/custom data analytics tools to enhance the business process.
  • Own and develop queries and data visualizations for ad-hoc, recurring, troubleshooting requests and projects. Create exploratory data analysis, reports, dashboards to surface data for different stakeholders.
  • All other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • 10+ Years of BI development and report management experience
  • 5+ years of Power BI skills
  • Advanced knowledge of T-SQL (Microsoft SQL Server databases / Microsoft Azure SQL databases)
  • Ability to write stored procedures, views, and SQL functions
  • Experience reading and writing entity relationship diagrams
  • Understand how to use query plans for performance optimization.
  • Knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.
  • Experience with Common Data Service (CDS)
  • Knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure, SQL data warehouse, Visual Studio, etc.
  • Experience slicing and pivoting SSAS OLAP cubes, Azure Active Directory, OAuth and RLS (row level security).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power BI development, publishing, and scheduling reports
  • Proficiency in DAX queries in Power BI desktop.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SSRS/RDL development and management for creating paginated reports in Power BI.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Power Automate, Dynamics CRM, and Office 365
  • Familiarity with JavaScript, CSS, and other JavaScript libraries
  • Excellent organization, planning, and prioritizing skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues
  • Effectively communicate highly technical information to function, technical team members and management
