Who you are:

As the Agile Coach you are an expert in various delivery methodologies and frameworks - both Agile and traditional - you can articulate a practical application and effectively apply your influence at multiple levels: individual squads, the department portfolio and enterprise-wide.

What you'll do:

The Agile Coach is responsible for developing and executing initiatives to drive Geotab’s adoption of Agile as a member of the Agile Services team. Their work results in measurable and sustainable improvements in knowledge, transparency, autonomy, and ability to deliver for engineering squads that build innovative telematics products. They address issues with inter-team delivery processes, organizational structure, team behaviours, and other systemic problems, recommending strategies for improvement, communicating a clear vision and leading the implementation of those changes.

How you'll make an impact

  • Contribute to the strategic vision to adopt and optimize Agile principles and methodologies for Geotab’s product delivery portfolio.

  • Enact change in development squads to adopt an agile mindset and practices with a focus on developing autonomous, innovative, highly-engaged teams.

  • Influence employees at all levels, including Software Developers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, Technical Project Managers, senior managers and department heads.

  • Guide teams by assisting with facilitation of all key Agile events including daily standups, iteration and release planning sessions, backlog refinement as well as product demos and team retrospectives.

  • Instill the ability for groups of interrelated squads to develop incremental release plans and quarterly delivery roadmaps based on outcome-based product roadmaps provided by Product Managers.

  • Develop department-level processes by combining scaled Agile and other program management frameworks to achieve departmental business goals.

  • Document and present plans and status updates to ensure managers and other stakeholders, including VP and other executive level, remain aligned and informed.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Bachelors Degree specialization in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • Preferred Advanced Degree or Certification in Organizational Change, Business, Finance, Coaching, or relevant experience.

  • Professional advanced Scrum Certification (A-CSM, CTC, PSM III) highly valued.

  • An active PMP Certification, or equivalent, highly valued.

  • 5+ years of experience in Agile coaching, consulting, and/or organizational change.

  • 5+ yrs. of experience in IT project/program management.

  • Proven track record being an agile leader and an agent of change.

  • Thorough knowledge of Agile Frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Agile@Scale, SAFe, LeSS).

  • Knowledge of Jira software is a must.

  • Thorough understanding of Agile software development methodologies, values, and practices and the software development life cycle especially as it relates to AI/ML and Data Science.

  • Possess Agile experience and leadership, while working within and implementing the principles of Agile methodology, enabling an Agile work environment, leading ceremonies, participating in scrums, and writing user stories.

  • Experience working within a technical or engineering organization, with knowledge of the high-technology industry is an asset.

  • High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
