Who you are:
We are always looking for amazing talent who can contribute to our growth and deliver results! Geotab is seeking a Senior Corporate Accountant who will be able to quickly contribute to the Accounting Control team. What you’ll do:
The Senior Corporate Accountant provides accurate and timely financial reports to ensure that the business operates in alignment with Geotab’s financial policies, as well as applicable regulations and tax laws.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including ledgers, journals, and financial statements in compliance with German accounting standards and tax regulations for a medium-sized German company includes notes and prepare and file tax returns, including VAT, income tax, and corporate tax.
- Stay updated on changes in German tax laws and regulations.
- Assist in preparation of written budgets and reports as needed.
- Establish internal control systems to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements.
- Assist in the coordination of internal and statutory external audit.
- Prepare supporting documentation and respond to auditor inquiries as needed.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.
What you’ll bring to this role:
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Financial Management.
- Strong financial acumen.
- General understanding of computerized accounting systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve to well-judged decisions.
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills In German and English.
- Strategic mindset, has a keen sense of priorities, along with an ability to pivot as the landscape changes.
- Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship management skills.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Practices discretion in all corporate matters.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP systems considered an asset.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Excel.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
