Geotab is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer who will leverage a deep understanding of the Geotab product suite from a technical perspective in order to identify and build solutions best suited for unique customer needs. What you’ll do:
As a Senior Solutions Engineer your key area of responsibility will be maintaining technical knowledge of the Geotab ecosystem and act as the system SME to enable end-users to better understand Geotab Solutions. You will participate in engineering product and integration projects with partners, third party integrators, and customers. You will need to work closely with Geotab’s Sales, Security, Engineering Support, Server Ops, and Cloud Automation teams. To be successful in this role, you will have strong technical knowledge using C#. In addition, you will be a self-starter with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to quickly understand complex, technical concepts. The successful candidate will have a strong aptitude for understanding technical and business requirements and the ability to translate these requirements to/from product features/functions.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Maintain technical knowledge of the Geotab ecosystem and act as the system SME to enable end-users to better understand Geotab solutions.
- Meet and consult with customers on effective usage of Geotab’s technology, solutions, and products.
- As a SME in one or more areas of focus, be responsible for training your peers and other departments in your area of expertise as well as acting as a point of escalation for our customers.
- Participate in engineering product and integration projects with partners, third party integrators, and customers.
- Strategize and work with the Geotab Sales team to create scalable and reliable solutions to customer challenges.
- Support end-user requirements in special projects.
- Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining new Geotab products.
- Technical lead for cross-functional committees/task forces.
- Evaluate feature requests to determine viability and/or alternative methods to solve requests.
What you’ll bring to this role:
- 3-5+ years in a technical sales or account management position preferred.
- Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree specialization in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong aptitude for understanding technical and business requirements and the ability to translate these requirements to/from product features/functions.
- Technical experience using C#.
- Technical experience in SQL, JavaScript or Google BigQuery is an asset.
- Knowledge of programming logic and understanding.
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel.
- Technical competence using software programs, including, but not limited to, Google Suite for business (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including comfort with delivering presentations and training.
- Excellent written communication skills, able to document technology solutions in precise detail, while also being able to summarize it succinctly
- Strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to problem solve to well-judged decisions.
- Must stay relevant to technology and should have the flexibility to adapt to the growing technology and market demands.
- A strong team-player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfortable in a flat organization.
