Flipp's FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) team supports strategic decision-making through proactive insights and business analysis. The FP&A team drives informed decision-making and sustainable growth for the organization by optimizing our financial performance. The Senior Manager, FP&A, Business Partnerships, will act as a trusted advisor to senior management as well as the executive team, and plays a critical role in budgeting, strategic planning, financial analysis, and process improvement across the organization.

What you'll get the opportunity to do:

Budget and Planning:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively engage with budget holders across all departments to gather accurate financial data, ensuring comprehensive and realistic budget preparation.
  • Strategic Alignment: Facilitate the budget planning process, ensuring alignment with the overarching corporate strategy, financial goals, and performance targets, including cross-functional collaboration on strategic initiative planning.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor budget performance against actuals, identify and analyze variances, and provide actionable insights and recommendations to achieve financial targets.

Reporting:

  • Synergy Tracking: Track synergies and dissynergies to provide visibility into progress toward the corporate savings target of $10M run-rate by end of year. This role will provide support for the Global program tracking re: Media Central x Flipp.
  • Capex Program: Create scalable processes to identify, track and analyze capex across the business. This requires coordination with Accounting to ensure we are within capitalization rules and frameworks as well as with the business to ensure we have support and data to support time allocations to capex.
  • Monthly Business Reviews: Prepare and present comprehensive monthly business reviews to each function, highlighting key financial metrics, performance trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Headcount Analysis: Generate timely and accurate headcount reports, providing detailed insights into the headcount forecast, costs, and trends across departments.
  • Management and Board Reporting: Analyze data and share insights to be included in management and board reports.

Business Partnerships:

  • Strategic Support FBP: Act as primary support for the Strategic Support business unit in expense and headcount planning
  • R&D Oversight: Point of contact for the COO to maintain oversight of the R&D function and manage specific requirements of the broader integration with Media Central. Please note COO mandate will include Ad Operations, Content and Marketing as well - for which this role will be the critical business partner.
  • Project Management: Collaborate internally, including with Shopfully and Media Central, to align on deliverables and expectations, while managing cross-functional processes and timelines.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Provide oversight of strategic initiative business case preparation and presentations to ensure cross-functional collaboration and consistency of planning assumptions. Ensure accountability, ownership, and that outcomes can be adequately tracked to monitor progress.

What you'll bring to the team:

  • 9+ years in progressive financial analysis roles with experience in business partnering
  • Strong Business Acumen that can quickly learn how Flipp works, experience in two-sided marketplace businesses is considered an asset
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to both lead and work within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in order to research and escalate issues.
  • Solid organizational and time management skills in order to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Expert user of reporting systems and analysis tools to deliver timely and accurate reporting to support business decisions

Canada Hiring Range:
